Called me at house left a rude message so I didn't call back then a few days later I found out that this firm garnished my wages so if you get a message call them back

Called saying they had legal documents for check fraud....Good Try Honey. I haven't written a paper check in over 10 years and we pay for EVERY THING in cash, Debit or Credit Card. So Bye Bye....

These idiots called my home phone twice and my cell phone today. You could clearly tell the woman was watching loud a$$ tv in the background and told me I needed to contact the lawyers office immediately before matters got worse. You don't threaten me over voicemail! She also said some address was where she tried to deliver that I lived at like almost 10 years ago.  Nice try morons. Go get a real job now.

This number (appearing as unknown on caller ID) called my mom's phone with the message they were looking for me and/or my husband regarding a case. They left a case number and everything. Why they out how they got my mom's number is beyond me to begin with and then acting as an actual law firm is ridiculous. I don't understand why people waste their time and energy plotting these types of scams!

Man called saying he was with Walberg Silverman associates. Told me I was going to be served a summons today or tomorrow at my work place if I didn't work with him. Didn't go into a lot of details. Hung up on him. Second time they have called. No process server tells you they are coming! He did know name of where I worked, which was odd.

called for property debt and then said it was for a credit card collection.The guy then called my job asking to talk to human resource department

This guy has called me twice. Last Friday he called and said he was sending a process server to my workplace. I told him where to go. I am going to alert Human Resources that this is a scam. He called about two weeks ago. Kept asking if me. I never confirmed. Now he is assuming it is me. Won't tell me what it is about except he is serving me with a summons.  Right. Process servers don't warn you ahead of time when they are coming.

Why would the police serve me at work for a credit card and who can I complain to? They embarrassed me and almost got me fired. Please help!!!!

You forgot to mention the company (credit card??) that forced the summons service.  The sheriff only did what he was told to do.

Sorry MJG and Biga I don't have a computer at home so I have to use computer at work on breaks anyway the company is Continental Finance Court date is March 19th. Question 1 can I sue them for embarrassing me at work? Question 2 I can't have a garnishment at my job I am so stressed out.

1. Only a judge can issue a wage garnishment,
2. I would call the local courthouse where this trial is to take place (civil division) to make sure there is actually a case.  Get the number from a search - not the one the company gave you,.

What is the address of this company and who is their lawyer?  Everyone else on here says it is Wahlberg and Silverman.  You say it is Capital finance.  Capital finance is a creditor and is not covered under the FDCPA.  If it is this other company trying to collect and they failed to send you the proper letter, then you could file a counter suit.   I doubt you would win on a suit simply because you were served at work and embarrassed.  As far as wage garnishment goes, it depends on what state you are living in as whether they are allowed to do that.

According to what I read, Arizona does allow wage garnishment.  Since no one here is a lawyer, and we would not be able to advise you even if we were, you will need to seek legal council from someone who is allowed to practice law in your state.  The clock is ticking.  You have a limited amount of time to do something.  If you ignore the court summons, then they will get a default judgement against you and they will garnish your wages or obtain any other legal remedies they are allowed by law.  You let this progress a little too far.  At this point, i would seek an attorney to help you.  You may be able to get a pro bono (free) attorney, but you will need to get a referral, possibly from the state BAR association.

I'd like to add that many attorneys will either not charge for an initial consultation or charge a greatly reduced fee.  The poster can ask the office manager/paralegal/secretary before he makes an appointment.

So far as I can see, this Wahlberg group is a phony group.  Looks to me like they are only scammers.  Debt scammers almost never go to court.  Largely because that would mean they would be exposed for what they really are.
