Got this also...twice in 24 hrs...no message. Called back and it is March of Dimes. I think it's a new way to get folks to pick up the phone...unknown number vs. a charity.

Just rec'd another call from this number...8:12am this time!!  Unavailable name, but he did say he was with March of Dimes.  Are they allowed to call this early in the morning??

How much to change my phone number and start over again? Thanks God for Caller ID!

Monday 1/18/10 evening, AM Tuesday 1/19/10 they don't say anything.
I've had numerous calls from this number in the past few weeks. When I answer no one says anything. It's very annoying.

I received called at 1509 hrs today (11 Mar 2010). I said hello; caller did not speak and hung up.

Unwanted calas maybe irritating.  But to whine about getting a call from the March of Dimes charity means you need counseling!

I called this number back myself, it is the March of Dimes.

While I must say without a doubt, this is a worthwhile charity, I cannot appreciate my wife being hung up on three times after asking who is this?  In response to her telling them I was not home.  My wife has better things to do with her time then answer obnoxious calls from ignorant people calling for donations who can't even have the courtesy to identify themselves.  In this economy a little bit of nice goes a long way.

This is the  March of Dimes. They are impossible to get to or talk to a live person.... even to make a donation.....

keeps calling 4 or 5 times a day

I keep receiving calls from this number, but when I pick up, no one answers and they hang up.  If it is the March of Dimes, the least they could do is identify themselves instead of being rude and simply haning up.  I have better things to do with my time than answer calls where no one has the courtesy to even answer when I say "Hello."

I give to these charities when I have the money not when they call me< Stop calling me!!!!!!!!!!

The March of Dimes also makes calls from 914-748-1893.  Someone named Steve posted this information which might or might not work.

Recently began getting calls from this number at all hours beginning at 8 am and on weekends. Called the number and it is the March of Dimes - the automated system gives you no options to stop the calls. But if you go to their web site and click on the  "Privacy Policy" link at the bottom of the page ( http://www.marchofdimes.com/787_about_4076.asp?link=footer ) scrolling down to the very bottom of the page there is a link to opt out of telephone calls ( http://www.marchofdimes.com/aboutus/17879.asp ). Did it today and we'll see if it works. This is much to much work to have to do - and it puts the March of Dimes at the bottom of my charities list.

The March of Dimes calls my number from multiple numbers. Will not give to a company that does this sort of harassment barrage.

These calls are most likely not actually from the March of Dimes, but from a telephone "boiler room" hired by MoD to do telephone fund raising and collections. The usually take a large percentage of funds raised by these means and give the named charity whatever may be left.

Laura Sue, this is probably not really the March of Dimes but a telephone "boiler room" operation doing fund raising on behalf of MoD but who keeps a large percentage of the donations. These are profit driven companies that don't give a whit about the charities they raise money for.

OOOOOOOKKK... soo I work for the US Army and get several calls per day containing hang ups.  Finally I *69'ed and decided to google the number.  So thank you to all of you for the information left.  You don't need to go the the website.. I just called the number back, pressed "1" to hear more about the organization and then "3" to opt my telephone numbers out.  Auto service states that they have up to 30 days to remove your number.  Don't know if it works, BUT worth a shot.  GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for posting this, hopefully they will abide by their privacy policies and leave me the heck alone. I wanted to donate to a good cause, not get harassed endlessly...

They call two times a day from different numbers.  Something smells here!  I always contribute to this org. but I won't through this call company.

I get these "Not Provided" caller ID calls all day! Since being laid off I'm home all the time.
