I told Capitol One million times to stop calling because there is no one by that name here. I suspect it is a collection agency calling to collect on a debt.

Didn't leave a message, but they have called several times.

It's sunday and I have gotten 4 calls from this number. They have yet to leave a message.

This is Sunday afternoon and I just received this phone call from this number.
The message was "it is essential that you return this call regarding a personal business matter"  The phone number this time was 1-888-579-0626. Today was the first time that number was left on my answering machine but the same voice and basically the same message has been calling for the past two months from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm at least twenty times a day using the phone number of: 1-866-401-2140.  I would like to know how to stop this harrasment.  I do owe Capital One a bill but I have asked for a letter of confirmation of charges and they ignore me but still send statements every month with additional charges that I am not putting on the card because I closed the account in October of last year.

I have received 100's of calls from 8885790626 and informed them that they have the wrong phone number. Thy keep telling me that they will remove my phone number with in 24 hours but then continue to callme about 12 times per day.

I am with a debt settlement company and they have confirmed with me information on several calls, cease and desist letters, and power of attorney letters and have shown the evidence of all.  Yet i still get calls from these people denying any of the obvious.  I am going to put them on a reject list. and they can talk to themselves.

Same issue as everyone else: Capital One will not stop calling even though there is no issue with the dead account.  When you dial their 800 number (800-955-6600) you typically will get hung up on, or they will indicate they have fixed the issue, yet nothing happens.  Since they have an 800 number, which gets billed everytime you ring it, I say we return the favor and rin them non-stop.  If enough do it maybe they will become less evil and figure out how to run their business.  Spread the word - have everyone you know dial their 800 number.

It is Capitol One Credit Card Company, and this is the collection division. They use auto dialers, and are very, very aggressive. There is no way to stop the calls, unless they are actually for you. If you want the calls to stop, you must answer, identify yourself, and tell them that under the Fair Debt Collection Act, you do not want any more calls from them regarding your account. They will follow the law, and stop calling, but is some cases, depending on how much you owe, they will start a lawsuit against you, and pursue all legal means to collect the debt.

I am receiving calls from this number which I believe are for someone who no longer resides at this address.  I would like the calls to stop.

One or two calls, fine.  I can handle that.  100 calls a day?  No, that's ridiculous.  And, as the end of December approaches, they will be even more relentless, its bonus-time.  I will wait to pay until January just so they won't get their bonus.  So irritating.

I say hello, the line is silent and then I hear "click".  If I'm not home, they leave a silent message.  I don't know how long they stay on the line, since I hang up within 5 - 10 seconds.

They call me constantly. Send them a cease and desist letter. Also, it is illegal for them to call you anytime except between 8am and 9pm, according to federal law. google "fair debt collection practices"

At 3:18 Central on Saturday 09/26/08, a male with very heavy accent (Pakistani/Indian) asked to speak to ".....name..." without identifying himself. Rather than asking who was calling, I just said that the "....name..." did not live here. The man said thank you and hung up. What I did not tell the man was the name he asked for was my sister, but she has not lived here for over three years. When I told my sister this, she informed that Capitol One and she already took care of this matter a year ago and that she had given them her new number.
Being a toll free number, I called the number back and I almost could not understand anything the answering male said.

They called 4X a day it seems in the month of November asking for my daughter, I say she's not here, she is rarely here, but they keep it up & say this call is being recorded, most of them hang up too fast b4 I can say much. They wake me up, bother me when I'm trying to get my granddaughter to sleep. I know my daughter owed Capital One, but I'm going to say she moved. It's getting ridiculous. That's why I looked up that # online to see who it actually is & what I could do. Good thing I didn't give them her cell cuz they asked for another # since she is rarely there. She isn't gonna pay them anyhow w/no job. I can't stand anymore.

every day of the month this number calls me 5 to 10 times a day 4 days ago was the first time they went a day with out a call from them, i'm like $100 over my account and they are a l'il rude with the service they provide! i'm going to cancel my account ASAP because they are not a good credit card company!

this is Capital One collections department.  they call anywhere.  they called at my place of work today.  irritating because I paid off the account 2 years ago and they still harrass.

Called me at work for someone named Dawn.  Same last name.  Waited on hold for 5 minutes, knowing it was a collection agency.  Informed them that no collection calls were permitted at this number.  They asked if I knew Dawn - told them I could not give out any information.  This is why i do not have ANY Capital One cards.  Dirt bags.

i keep getting calls from 8 am to 9 pm, 7 days a week and i have never had a capitol one card. i don't know how to make these calls stop! now i'm getting calls from a new number: 866-401-2140

Its Capital One.  I started getting calls from them back in september, from 866-401-2140.  They always called when i was in class so i never got a chance to answer it.  i finally was able to answer it, they asked for some guy named rosario.  I told them that was not me, they said they were sorry and would take my number off of their list.  They started again a week ago, same thing, calls from 9 am to 6 pm every day.  they called 7 times yesterday and 4 times today already.  i have told them numerous times to stop calling, they have the wrong number.  there is nothign that you can do to make these people stop harassing you.  I have absolutly no relation to capital one and never will for this exact reason.
