I called this number and was told that I was being served a summons, but when I asked what it was in regard to, the man (Frank Richards) got snippy and told me that I needed to tell him where I could be served and that "This is NOT Burger King, you cannot have it your way".  When I told him that I would not give him the address for my place of employment (which is temporary by the way and I will be laid off again this summer), and that he could wait until I was out of work in mid-June to "serve" the so-called summons, he said "When pigs fly" and then hung up on me.  This man was very rude and really gave me no clear explanation why I was being served, or verification that this debt was actually mine.  I'd say, don't call them!

This may be an extortion scam. Scammers use bought/hacked loan application data to extort payments for fictitious debts from victims and victims' families and friends.

We received two calls today from these ignoramuses.  They left a very stern, threatening toned message on our A/M and said if we didn't return the call, the "papers could turn into a 'no show' in court."  This call had nothing to do with any member of my family.  Only someone with the same name as a family member.  When we called to inquire about it, they were rude, controlling, and defiant.  They do not give the name of their company and Steve Martinez refused to tell me how to get them to stop harassing us after we told him there was no connection between this person and our phone number.  He hung up on me.  I called back to ask what his role at the company was.  He said, "I know what you are," and hung up on me again.  His words and tone indicated that because someone was trying to serve this person a summons, he had the right to call and say anything they wanted and I had no right to object or complain, or any rights in asking them to stop calling or ask them to be more responsible in obtaining their information.  I suggest you call and speak with the person who answers to screen the call.  Ask them the birthdate and/or SS # of the person they are trying to reach.  If it does not match yours, tell them so and ask to be removed from their records.  If it is you, they are trying to serve you a summons.  Don't expect courtesy or good customer service.

Wants money or else will sue for something that has already been paid. These outfits need to get their act together

I got a call from this number this morning. It's way too vague. The guy implied he was calling for another company that he didn't name.

I figure it's one of these scams that's similar to the one where they call you and say they're a process server and need to know when you're going to be home (when's the last time you heard of process servers trying to make an appt?).

Just got a call from this number, they called my job and told my co-worker how they've tried to serve me twice already and that if I don't receive the last subpoena, they will take me to court. First of all, I don't remember owing anyone anything at this point. Secondly, isn't it illegal to tell other people the business of the call but the actual person they need to contact?!!! I work for a law firm and I know how papers are served.. and the funny thing is that I'm the first person to receive them. Seriously, attempted 2 times... I doubt it. I'm not sure if I should call them or just wait for them to "serve" me again today. Let's see if they send it over.

This company is threatening to deliver a legal summons.  They are also calling my parents phone and leaving the same threatening message.  I spoke with them and said that I owe a much larger amount than I do.

These ppl contacted my old job and some family members... if they are a legit debt collector, and they want to summons me, all they have to do is get my address from my credit report. i've also got resumes posted all over the internet, and a fb account w my phone number on it! if they wanted to find me they could. they are deliberately trying to stir up [***] spreading rumors of your being in trouble to your family and causing problems at your job. if they want me bad enough they will find me.

It's a con.

They pull this fake "process server" act, calling relatives or whoever they think your employer is, to try to scare people into believing they have been "sued".  They probably use skip trace services to find relatives or employers.

Check your credit reports, and you will probably find they just pulled one (probably Experian), so they would already have your address.

Based on other complaints, they will probably try to claim you owe some "debt" to them that sounds like an old account from your credit reports.

Contact FTC, who is currently investigating a rash of similar complaints pointing to the Corona CA area.

Apparently they read the FDCPA, and for everything it prohibits, they made up some excuse to get away with doing it.

They routinely disclose to third parties, but by these fake "process server" calls, so they claim that wasn't them.  The "process servers" are calling from the same room as the "closers" you talk to when you call back.  "Attempted to serve you 2 time" is part of the act.

Pull your credit reports, and look for some recent inquiry under a name different from normal creditors.  Many people are reporting inquiries on Experian a couple days before the calls start.  Many also report they may be using old account information to concoct this fake "debt".  FDCPA and FCRA violations all over the place.

Get credit, spend till you are blue....then do not pay....Live the American way.....that way these creepy boiler room debt collectors will always have a job.

they called me left a message about being summones to court and left a case number and a phone nukber to call then back at. whe i spoke with "Ron Jones" he was very rude and threated to "sue" me over a debt i suposivly have had from 4 years ago. when I asked to mail me some paperwork he refused and said he dont have to send me [***]. then he says " i need to talk to hinm with some respect that hes not oine of my kids" i replyed see you in court..If its true i will be in court...

`The same # called my place of employment my cell and my home!!!! Threatening to garnish my wages on behalf of HSBC card services!!!! Ron Jones is whom I spoke to and needless to say this is a scam!!!

They may be using that alias to pretend to be related to a large well known national collection agency.
Based on other complaints, this is NOT "NCO Financial".

The earlier reported alias, "AF Group", connects these calls to a large fraudulent debt collection racket run from southern California, the Corona Scam.

Contact FTC.  They are currently investigating the rash of complaints pointing to that area.

I received a call back in December from these guys with the same "Summons in Court" scam on a debt I had 5 years ago. I reluctently gave them my info and they pulled payments out of my account for two months. After that they suddenly disappered and  two months later I had a fraudulent check that appeared on my account so I had to change it. Since then they have contacted my parents, devulged my information and annoyed them with the same threats. If this was a legitimate company I would have received written information or a court order by now since I had given them my information before. This is a total scam and I will be reporting it to the proper authorities.

This man/company is harassing me and my landlord, etc.  I want it to stop

I am getting the same information from these people too... I live in KY!  Don't give any of your information to these scammers.
