I got this phone call from a man with an Indian accent (busy call center background noise), threatening me with jail time for tax evasion. Who is this guy?

most likely a fraud. i got a call from the same number and when i started asking for his name, employee number and IRS office location where he was calling from, he hung up the phone.

They are totally a fraud the IRS Never cold calls anyone they will send a letter first
do not give them any information

you should report it to the IRS
by calling the Tax Fraud Hotline recording at 1-800-829-0433

I encountered exactly the same situation today (called by this number) so just want to voice it and help with capturing this guy-a person with Indian accent trying to scam people's money!

Not to worry - its a scam he called me too and wanted to settle the dispute over the phone - RIGHT with money going into their account of course - its a SCAM

Total IRS scammer.  Ignore 'em.  But report 'em.
