888-648-2798

12/17/2010  Revd a call from this number 1-888-648-2798 at 1:17pm est. today.  I did not recogize this number.  So, therfore, I did not anwser it and  the party never lefter a message.

This is another 888 number used by the fake marketing pfishing scam company called the "National Redeeming Center." If you get a call from them, be sure to report it on the National Do Not Call registry website so that eventually they investigate. The only way they will investigate is if they get a ton of reports. This scam of a company is not only pfishing for personal identifying information, they are clearly abusing the "do not call" registry.

Got a call from these bozo's as well as 3 of my neighbors. That's when I thought of this being a scam. So I googled their info and found this site. I reported them to the National do not call list and I encourage everyone else to do the same. at www.donotcall.gov/complaints Lets show them we wont tolerate scamers. With enough complaints they will shut them down.

3/3/2011--Recorded robocall from 'Megan' about a drawing for a 2011 Lincoln Navigator...which I thought I remembered entering some time ago.  Lost the original call-back 888-number, so I called the above number which I got from caller's ID.  The operator said the contest had been recently authorized for PA participants.  Company name is similar to "National Redemption Center," which actually does exist out of NY.  I've also seen local news stories recently about scams with yellow pages ads involving companies with names that sound very close to actual legitimate local businesses; but not businesses related to phishing scams as far as I've heard.

I received a phone call from this number yesterday, i went to answer it and then my husbands phone was ringing with a call from the same #. i called the # back. male answered who sounded black, said it was some consumer number, very rude. i said i dont know who you are but you need to stop calling me. he called me a b*tch. i told him i was reporting him to better business bureau and he hung up.
i called back again and same guy answered-he said well i guess this is the b*tch line so stop calling her you f*cking b*tch!

Just filed a complaint at the governments do not call web site which is what I suggest anyone reading this also should do - https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx - maybe if the gov gets enough complaints they will investigate and shut these people down.

I got the same message. "Megan" at extension 221 from the National Redeeming Center said I made an entry for a Lincoln Navigator at a mall, movie theater or online. Sorry "Megan", but no I didn't. This is a scam. Even if you think you may have entered your name in a drawing, I'm sure you didn't do it with these people. I'm going to report them to the FTC right now.

This number (888) 648-2798, keeps calling my cell & not leaving a message. I called back and the answered  "NRC" who are they? SCAM!

Keeps calling my cell. Will file a complaint for what it's worth. Grrrrr....

Has anyone actually called back and gone to there appointment to get prize?

Also got phone call, called back and told how to pick up prize, will take 90 minutes. need to listen to company info-- they are discount travel company like orbits ect. still debatting about going to get prize!

My call was from "Amber" ext 221 about a contest for a Ford Hybrid. I thought it a bit suspect and thanks to this site for helping others to be aware of this scam.

So the question that comes to my mind when reading these posts is what do we all have in common? Whose list are they using? I see a Lincoln/Ford connection to a couple of people. Would be curious if there is a connection and someone leaker for sold our contact info. I find it particularly interesting that one posting had a cell and home at the same time.

It seems Amber is at it again.  I received message on my home phone telling me I had entered a drawing at a mall, movie theater etc. for a 2011 Ford Hybrid SUV and congratulations, your name was drawn last night.  She failed to say what my name was drawn for or if I actually won anything. I never enter those types of drawing so I want be calling 888-648-2798 ext 221.

I received a message from Amber on my home phone telling me I had entered a drawing at a mall, movie theater etc. for a 2011 Ford Hybrid SUV and congratulations, your name was drawn last night.  I actually called 888-648-2798 ext. 221. A man answered and said his name was Thomas and that I won one of 4 prizes:  (1)Ford SUV,  (2)trip for 2, (3)$2,500.00 or a (4)flat screen TV.  To claim my prize all I needed to do was to come to the Comfort Suites in Gettysburg for a meeting, show my driver's licenses and a credit card, complete a survey to prove that I earn at least $60,000 a year and then I would receive my prize.  After questions he said the name of the company was Paradise Discount Travel. His phone number is 888-279-4849.

Had a message from Amber x 221 at this number.  My husband called back - spoke to a Nathan and  was told I entered a contest, guranteed one of the top 4 prices 2011 Ford Escape Hybrid, Vacation, $2,500 cash or 32" flat screen.  We just need to come, listen to their new company information - they're like an Expedia etc. and they're trying to get their name out there.  We were to go to the Comfort Suites Hotel in Gettysburg PA, have this claim number in hand because that's the only way we'd get in the door.  He was told they were the National Claims Center.  I was skeptical so I just phoned myself.  David was taking Amber's calls - I listened to the same speil, was given a different claim number - I questioned that, some other guy got on the phone.  He said no use the first claim number that was given to your husband.  I pushed back for some more information, one being the name of the company he said Paradise, a little more exchange between the two of us, I asked again at the end of the conversation so the name of the company is Paradise?  He said yes, Paradise Escape.  I googled it and found myself here.  This scam would have taken 3 hours out of my evening which is why I questioned it in the first place - glad I did because I know my husband would have lost is mind, probably been put in jail :o) because of high pressure sales.  Thanks to everyone.  My next web page is the do not call list.

got same message from an amber with the 221 ext today - i never fill out prize entries so i can avoid these calls

Amberr left a message that my name was drawn for a new Ford Hybrid Truck. and to call 888-648-2798 x 221. I have not been able to get through. So I thought I'd google this and low and behold, if found all the others that have been called. Thanks to all of you who posted their experiences with this number here.

I will delete this number and never call them.

Our girl amber is a busy Bee, she called my house and left the same msg about winning the ford hybrid, I called back and daniel caplan answered and said Amber was in a meeting but he could help me, I don't fill out applications for contests so I knew it wasn't me but I thought it may have been one of my kids, after talking with daniel I knew it was a scam he gave me 4 days and three different times each day I could pick up my prive and said we would have to take a picture with the vehicle, if we won the vehicle how would he have an audience at four different days and three times a day, its a scam!
