- Mary replies to HarveyFirst they said they were TD Bank and that was not one of their numbers. Then I said I just called you back on that number and the man told me they were just calling to verify debt card. I said why would you do that if the card comes with a number to call. Then they said they were calling to tell about the new federal banking laws. He said they only call once and I said you call every day and leave no message. I told them I would go to the bank and get the information stop calling my house I don't even have an account at TD Bank. Then he asked if anyone in my house does and I said I didn't know and if they do I will send them to the bank.
- mabbottReceived a call at 3:00 p.m. today. When I answered - no one responded. I called the # back and asked who they were, was told TD Bank. Then proceeded to ask for my debit card #. I refused and then called a valid TD Bank # to report the call.

- RachelI just called TD bank to get information on this number.
It is a legitimate number from TD bank's Canadian Debit Card call center. They are calling about enrolling in overdraft protection. You will lose protection in November if your dont enroll due to law changes.
I was worried when i read all the comments above, but it is in fact real.
They only ask for your zip code to enroll.- Caller: TD bank
- KristenThis is TD Bank. They didn't ask for my debit card number, just my name and zip code to confirm that they had called the right person. It was to confirm that I had received information about changes in federal laws and make sure that I didn't have any questions. It is legitimate.
- Caller: TD Bank
- SmCeI work for TD Bank, this is legit. It's in regards to new Federal Banking Regulations, they're basically giving you Overdraft Options for your Debit Card. You can call the main TD Bank Call Center to verify.

- RebeccaThis makes sense. I know the TD bank number and it is a 1800 number not 888. But, I got a call from this number and didn't answer but I happened to check my bank statement online and I overdrew my account. I paid back the difference right away but I think it might almost be automatic whenever you overdraw your account they call you to verify and notify you. Next time I get a call from this number I'll know I'm in trouble!

- JenPeople who say this number is ligite are probably the scam people. I called td bank from the number on their website they transfered me to someone and I gave them the number and it wasn't in their system. They said it was a scam. If you get a call from someone saying they are so and so, call a number on the back of your card or from the original website to check it out.
