- uptown| 8 repliesa charge on my bank card.
- maria replies to uptown| 1 replyi got the same 14.95 charge
- confused and ticked replies to mariaSame here...I got a charge on Jan 28th. What is up???
- Charlotte replies to uptownI got the same 14.95 charge. I called the 888-672-4182 number and it is Direct Investor News. Their customer service rep said I probably signed up on some online "promotion". Scam is probably more like it. They say they are "closing my account" and will issue a refund of the $14.95, but it may take 7 days because they are "backed up with refunds right now". Big surprise!!! Sounds like I bought something else that they somehow piggybacked onto without me realizing it...
- AC - Charlotte, NCSame issue here. We are getting a monthly charge but don't know what this is about.
- North CarolinaI called the number and it connects to a company that runs http://directinvestornews.com. They are some sort of real estate company.
I was also charged on Jan 28th for $14.95. - Stacey replies to uptown| 1 replyWOW I just saw this charge today - I didn't authorize it. She said I must have opted in online and I was like UM NO. I had my cc company cancel my card.
- Michele replies to StaceyI got a $49.95 charge in Dec 08; then two $14.95 charges in Jan 09 and Feb 09. I did not authorize these charges and I was told the same thing. I probably signed up on a promotion without knowing it. She said she would reverse two of the three charges. And I have FOUR different phone numbers for them. What's up with that?? Doesn't that sound shady?!?!
It is Direct Investor News, but I bet they are the "parent" and then give your cc # to THOUSANDS of others out there. I'll probably have to cance my cc just to make this stop. - Michele| 3 repliesThis phone number is connected with 888-672-4182 and 888 671 9367. After being on hold for 10 minutes with 888 674 6805, I was automatically disconnected. I'm very suspicious of this company, Direct Investor News. And how did they get my cc information when I have no interest in real estate, I purchased my home 2 1/2 years ago, and I don't invest in anything except my company 401K? Very disconcerning and sneaky of this company.
- Caller: Property Investior
- Call type: Unwanted
- JDB replies to Michele| 2 repliesI have the same problem and I think this company may have bought the records from Property Investor magazine??? They tried charging me after cancel over 2 years ago. I had Capital 1 remove the charge because I was on hold several times over 20 minutes and then it would hang up with a busy signal. The charge was oput back on the same day it was taken off then they charged another monthly fee. I have reported them to the fraud department for investegation and had Cap1 issue a new card.
- Ryan replies to uptownThey got me 2 months ago, my credit card company refunded the money. Just opened the bill today and got another charge. Was able to get it refunded from the credit card company again. Funny thing this card has been in a safe for over a year. I only use it to do balance transfers that i iniate over the phone with the credit card company directly

- anti just got 14.95 to my account. they said i subscribe august 30 of get the 2006 thats bull......
- john michiganAbsolute crooks!!!!! Took 14.95 out of an account I haven't used in over 2 years. They said that I signed up through a promotion, even if I did I did not physically input my routing and account number for an inactive account. I spent 20 minutes screaming on the phone and the best I heard from a manager is "relax even if we did steal from you, we gave you a refund." He also went on to explain that the bounced check fee was not his responsibility because I authorized it. Please call the BBB and report these thieves.
- mikeSame thing. $14.95 charge on my debit card. Didn't sign up for anything either. Going to dispute the charge through my bank, get my money returned and see if they can block all future transactions from this so called "merchant". How many people do they screw that don't even catch the transaction? SCAM. Hopefully they will be in court real soon trying to explain....
- RichardYou should send an email to support@directinvestornews.com asking for canceling the service. They will refund you the money; that's how I got mine :D
- RahulThey charge $14.95 on my credit card on 6/22/09, I just called my bank and they will give me new card with new number and credit for that amount.
- Drew| 1 replyI got charged 14.95 on a CitiBank card that I did not know I had. The charge was posted with an id of INV00 of 00 and also listed another number 777-6249165 which could be another phone number.
- eternitusGot the same charge twice. What the heck is this?
