Just got a call from this number.  No message left.

This is a cold call from Excel Energy trying to offer discount progrms for people with central air. When I explained to the 15 year old on the line that our house was built in 1911 and still had radiator heat she started laughing. Apparently she had no idea such a thing still existed.

For weeks I would get a call from this number and the phone would only lring three times and I couldn't get to the phone.  This was very frustrating and I really got upset.  then fiinally I answered a call and a man said they were representing excell energy.  I called excell and got in such a hassle with the person there that she notified their security and he called me back late at night and threatened police action and i told him to just stop calling me.  Two days later a police car stopped by my house and talked to me about the phone call.

I came home to find that someone had called but no message was left.  I used *69 to get the number of the person or company that called but that didn't leave a message.  After reading the above messages, I called the number and their automated system answered and explained that they were calling on behalf of Excel Energy regarding their Saver's Switch Program.   It gave instructions on how to have my number placed on their "DO NOT CALL LIST."  I followed the instructions so hopefully I will not be called again.  By their message, I am assumming that it wasn't actually x-cel energy or any of their employees calling but a company that was hired by x-cel energy to call its customers about the Saver's Switch program.  This would explain why the x-cel employee got upset with gregor when he called and "hasseled" them about calling him.  To solve the problem of calling, just call the number back and you will get an automated message explaining what to do to put your number on their "do not call list."

Thanks, Keely, this was very helpful.  I am now calling Excel Energy (I'm a customer) to explain what garbage this is and how they are hurting themselves by doing this.  I encourage others to do the same.

I had a call from this number on my cell phone with no message left.  Upon calling the number back it continued to ring busy.  I rent where I am living and there is NO need for this call.  I am also on the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST which I update every 6 months to stop these types of calls.

I did call the #1.888.689.9303. I don't think it is fair that they have your # because it is listed with your account.  And they can use it for their own advertisement. If you think about it if you have a cell # and you pay for minute and a company is using it for there own advertisement, it's like stealing.

It is a Scam, all they want is any information they can get to do you harm, steal your identity.  They use the name Excel or other upstanding companies to fool you into thinking you are safe.  The ploy is they are a "survey" and not selling you anything.  If they are "selling" you something they are under the rules of "do not call", if it is a "survey" "do not call" rules do not apply.

Calling for charities, political candidates and surveys are exempt from the "do not call list".

The "Saver's Switch" is a device which connects to your air conditioner's outdoor compressor, the part of your air conditioner which draws the most electricity.  With the savers switch installed and active, Xcel Energy remotely disables your air conditioning during peak demand times.  The problem is, your furnace and thermostat do not know when the compressor is disabled, so your central air fan just runs and runs without actually cooling your home down.  Since the savers switch does turn the power back on periodically, the compressor will eventually run and then your a/c will work for a while. In the end, this surely results in either more electricity being used to accomplish the same cooling, and/or the cooling simply not happening much of the day despite some energy being used.  I had a savers switch and hated it.  I already have a circulate setting on my central air and I try not to run my a/c too much but when I want it running, believe me I want it running.

If you are an Xcel customer they can call you regardless of your do-not-call list status.  The most you can do is tell them to change your telemarketing preferences on your account.  Be polite they're just doing their job.

They have called three times today.  They only let it ring 3 times and then disconnect.  I NEVER answer calls from people or numbers that I do not immediately recognize.  I've been on the National Do Not Call Registry for years now and still get calls.  I can only assume that I would get even more calls if I were not on the registry.  I will put this number in my call blocking file and hope for the best.

Xcel energy trying to make my 1923 home more energy efficient. Good luck with that. My grandparents couldnt, my parents couldnt and ive owned the place 10 years and cant. buzz off xcel.

My house is 125 years old.  I still have push button light switches.  I am an Excel Energy customer.  Homes like mine do not have central a/c.  I would think that the Federal DNC Registry would apply to legitimate businesses like Excel.  Anyway, I blocked this number about two weeks ago.  They are still calling.  CID said:  "Out of Area" and the phone number.  Why does Excel Energy block their name as an out of area call?
