They called me refused to give me the company's name that I owed dept to. They said I owed a pay day loan from 2008 and that it had gone through 7 collections agencies and now they're taking legal action. Refused to mail any information to me. Told me that I have a court date on Tuesday but wouldn't tell me when or where. Only wanted to email me info. It went from me needing to contact them Tuesday, to I have a court date, Tuesday to they'll be serving me papers at my employer on Tuesday. They were rude, yelled at me, then hung up. I believe it's a scam. I check my credit report regularly and there's never been anything on there like this.

I received an unknown call that I let go straight to voicemail, allegedly from Gordon, case manager at RG Financial, ext. 3019.  He said he was trying to reach some woman who is definitely Not Me, so I won't be calling him back.  I've been getting these calls for the past week.  RG appears to be a collection agency, but I've never had any delinquent accounts on My credit.  I really wish these people would check their facts, before they just start dialing people's numbers all times of the day. To those who do owe creditors, they are known to call and ask for someone else, only to try and trick you into confirming that they have the right phone number for You!  I have a friend who is trying to buy a house, and she is hounded all the time for a debt that she owned from 2000.  Her housing counselor told her specifically Not to speak to them and confirm anything, because if she's not careful, the debt could re-age an reappear on her credit report.

I get at least one call a day from them.  This is the first time they left a message.  Tiffany White at extension 3012 said if I didn't call back within 24 hours they would file a refusal to pay.  She didn't tell me what their hours were or who my "debt" was with.

The only person who can help you is you.  Here is what you need to know to do that:
RG FINANCIAL AKA THE RELIANT GROUP
    Posted in:  https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-704-3493
Website with alleged contact info:  http://rgfinancialus.com/#contact
    BBB page gives them a D+ with 1 complaint:  http://www.bbb.org/atlanta/business-reviews/p ... oss-ga-27586766
They are not registered under either name in Georgia as would be required by law.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I received a call yesterday from Tori Lunden, RG Financial 888-704-3493 ext 3012...she was very rude.  She indicated that I owed $2200 from a payday loan in 2008 plus $1975 in atty fees...when I indicated that I have NEVER taken a payday loan out and wanted more information she became more rude.  She said it was done on the computer and they have my electronic signature...they had my ex-husbands email address and name of employer.  She said if I didn't settle today I would be served papers by the sheriff at my employer and would be in court next week.  Everytime I tried to ask questions or get further information she would indicate that not paying back a load was fraud...She tried to get me to settle for less amount $1300...when I said that I wouldn't pay that this was obviously fraud or identity theft on me and I would contact DA office to report she got even more upset and said that she was processing the paperwork to have me prosecuted to full extent of the law.

I sent this information to the DA office along with these posts to see what I can do to protect myself from this in the future
