Says unknown so I let the machine get it.  It must be automated because it seems to detect the answering machine and there is dead air with no message.

This is a new one, but called yesterday and today, so I suspect they'll keep bugging me, just like all the rest.

Called my work cell and left no msg. I googled the # and found this page - now I know not call.

CAA - Canadian Automobile Assosiation - Very Reputable

They have called me over the last few months and never give me a chance to pick it up or leave a message - tried calling back and said that it was not a valid phone # this [***] is rediculous give me the chance to pick up or dont call me! stupid telemarkets I DONT WANT YOUR MEMBER SHIP! I HAVE ONE ALREADY

Same I googled it asap and everyone seems to have the same problem. Are they just telemarketers or they will call you every hour or so can we block them? Obvi it's long distance and it would cost me.

I called them today they seem to be legit, well sounded legit, I will try to calling CAA and confirm with them and may be take it from there.....As per the rep he said he was from Petro Canada offering membership for CAA. Also you can double your petro points etc.....CAA membership was offered for like $57 something......

I've never answered it BUT I am a CAA member.

I have only lived in Canada 6 months - and do not have a job yet. Where would these people get my phone number to call me? The caller is a persistent salesman who will not take NO for an answer. When I am ready for this type of membership - it will definitely NOT be with CAA.

I also got called, and offered a deal on the CAA membership, and got called again.... They should stop doing this, its not making CAA look good out there, they are a legit company using annoying telemarketers to sell. NOT a good idea in my books.

SCAM - Any legitimate Canadian company of that size has their own sales an public relations department –therefore the name of the company would be listed an shown in call display – I was told after contacting them through the webpage  of their company not to provide  my membership number – if they have my phone number they have my membership # an THEY don’t ask for the number because of  theft an misuse of my number –the caller obtains my number then calls CAA an asks to close my account an send the refund to  (fake address  not mine ) an Im out x bucks being my fault I gave the Number it’s a phone SCAM. scam scam !!!!!

This is not a "SCAM scam scam" It is a telemarketing company who has been contracted out by CAA.
