Always say they are from AT&T and want to speak to the person in charge of the account. They are definitely not AT&T, as we have called AT&T and checked to make sure. Calls are about once or twice a week in frequency. Sometimes from another number. The calls have always been from different people who never give their last name.

Just started geting these annoying calls. When you call their number
it either says their having trouble with their line (ya,right) or there
is no sound at all. Happy to have a service that when they call tells
them I'm not available. Good riddens.

When caller called, there was a lot of rustling of paper noises. When the person finally said "Hello" I said, "What do YOU want?". The person said, "Nothing" and hung up!

We get these calls every week!  They say they are AT& T. They are not!  They ask to speak to the person who is in charge of our AT&T account and we don't even have AT&T!

I hung up on the guy this morning!

Do not let these people keep phoning you. They will drive you absolutely insane and they are not from Qwest, AT&T or Verizon!!! Do not believe them! 2 months of daily calls is making me pissed!

When I told the caller that I was not interested in switching my phone provider he said "what's the matter, ma'am?  Are you too dumb to save money?"  I of course called him a four letter word and hung up on him.  Wonder if he's dumb enough to actually call back!?

It took a while - but yes, they were stupid enough to start calling again...

He said he was with centurylink (formerly Qwest) and wanted to give me a quote to change over my phone service.  I get these kind of calls all the time so I told him that I wasn't interested and hung up.  It sounded like a bad connection.  Why would centurylink use a line with noise on it.

Companies selling research of 800 numbers also advertise, or can sell your personal information to advertisers.  Are these 888 and 800 numbers trying to get us to sign up with those helpful(?) companies so those companies can sell our information to advertisers?  Is that how they make their money? There is not a true "Business Reason" for these calls nor is this done just for fun.

Keeps asking for the owner when told she dose not come that ask you is in charge of our centrylink I told we do not have centery link. I hang up on him and tried to dial out he was still on the line so I kepot the phon off the hook. I do not if this will but I did block that number with the call blockin.

Called about CenturyLink bill--we have no CenturyLink account.
Phishing scam.

Called and hung up when I answered. When I called back they advised that a computer had called and dropped the call.. Claimed to be calling for Century Link phone service and was I interested in that. When I advised no the person claimed they would remove my number. We'll see

How do I stop these calls

They just called me claiming to be century link and that they lost a lot of "customer and billing records" during their acquisition of Quest

I get calls like that. Im like if youre calling ME shouldnt you know already who to ask for?! Especially if they want to speak to who handles the AT&T acct. LOL IF they really were AT&T theyd already have ALL that information in front of them on their computer screen. I  never pick up these calls..even when they call the business line at my job.

Wow...shame you cant file a complaint about that person. Clearly if he was with a legit company he'd be fired for a comment like that to a potential customer.

Male caller asking to speak to the person who handles our ATT account.  I asked was he with ATT and he said he was a partner.  I told him we only speak to our ATT rep.  He said ok and hung up.

The caller ID said "800 Service."  This caller said she was from CenturyLink, and wanted to talk to the owner about "the telephone bill for your current service with [our current telecom provider]."  I asked her to put the number she called on their internal do not call list, and she got short with me and said she would only talk to the account holder. I then called our current telecom provider to ask if there is an issue with "the telephone bill for our current service," and the gentleman I spoke to said he worked for CenturyLink for 10+ years and the call we got sounded like a marketing call.
