I don't know who this is and why they are calling me. Is this a collection agency? Can they please stop calling me?

If they called you, get them to send you a notice by mail... actually they are required by law to send the notice with in 5 days of first contacting you :)

Someone called me from 1-888-733-1270 and asked for someone who obviously had my number in the past.  When I said I had the number for over a year, and that they need to stop perpetually calling me, he asked what that meant.  I told him what it meant, and that they better stop calling because I don't know the person they are looking for. He said that since I wasn't nice to him, he would make sure that I continued to get calls.  I got 3 more this weekend.

Called 13:44 CST, 10 Dec 07, left no message. I think I have been called by most of their telephone numbers by now. Caller ID shows the same for all of them: the 'number' they're calling from and the notation 'Toll Free Call'. 'They' are United Recovery Systems, a centralized collection agency, and a real persistent bunch and no manners.

Calling from 888 733 1133. Someone named Vita Adams. Not even about us. We own a two-family house and they seem to be after our tenants. We've told them they have the wrong number and that it's not our job to do their job for them. We've been assured that they will take our number out of their records but it seems they are lying. How do we get these people off our backs?

To make sure they no longer contact you (if they do again), get the person's name and the company mailing address.  Then mail them a Cease and Desist letter telling them not to contact you anymore.  By law they have to comply with this letter and cannot contact you anymore and send it certified with a return reciept with a signature.  Make sure you keep a copy of the letter incase they do contact you.  If they keep contacting you after they recieve the letter, you can file a complaint with the FCC.

This Number called a neighbor and ask if they knew me and my spouse because they lived on the same street.

Can someone give me the address for them as I have never received anything from them. I got behind a bill and they have been calling me. The thing I am not understanding is they are calling for Dell computers and Dell still sends me statements each month. Now I was told my a co-worker that you shouldn't be paying Dell if collection agency is calling. I told him they have been calling for about two months everyday 6 or 7 times a day and I still get my monthly statements from Dell but never heard anything from United Recovery. So am I doing right by paying Dell since they are still sending me statements each month. Still a two months behind but I am still making payments.

Can completely understand where everyone is coming from.  They called asking how to get in touch with my sister-in-law - and she and I have different last names.  I don't know how they found me.  Anyway they said it was imperative they reached her.  I asked if it was life or death; they answered no.  I told them that if she wanted to talk to them she would, but not to call me any more.

They called my cell phone and no one even has the number, it's private, and I dont give it out!  I didn't answer.

i made payment arrangements with someone at United Recovery. They still keep calling me. Tonight they called my house from 3 or 4 different numbers and the call is disconnected when I answer. Very annoying. If I let the machine answer, no message is left.

I am pending filing bankruptcy and these people are relentless callers.  They are from URS and are calling regarding a Dell bill that I am behind on.  Most of the time I just hang up on the people because they are so hard to understand.

They are a debt recovery company in Houston, TX.  Report their innappropriate and illegal in some States procedures to your State's Attorney General's office.  They love "hooking up" businesses like this.

They are a scam collection agency.

They call my cell, my husband's cell and my ex-husband's cell. I don't even have that #. I owe them nothing. They are calling me to get a hold of my sister!!!!!
