Claiming to be a law firm and actually being one are two different things. Having said that, I would answer calls from unfamiliar sources.

Scam, called and left me a voicemail that was supposed to be intended for someone else. Trying to create urgency, so that you make reactionary decisions. Simply ignore, or play with them, and give them a bunch of bogus information if you have the time :-)

They call from a lot of numbers.  Call themselves Hadley Cooper and Associates supposedly a legal office.  But I can't find any record of them.  I'm sure it's a debt collection scam.

Ignore and block their calls. They are just trying to scare you into payng them somethng.  DO NOT FALL FOR IT AND DO NOT PAY THEM ANYTHING.

Demand a debt validation letter be sent to you by US mail.  E-mail no good.  DO NOT LET THEM INTIMIDATE YOU.

Most certainly a debt collection scam where they try to scare you into paying them something.  DO NOT FALL FOR IT.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  DIME  until the debt is validated.

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

    If they are bothering you,

    Report them:

    http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.  If you can find them.

First please know that I have spoken with 2 separate LEGITIMATE attorneys regarding calls from "Hadley Cooper Associates Law Firm". Both of the lawyers took the information I gave them below and performed their own research. They told me that THIS IS A SCAM and DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE. Stating that the individuals calling us are what they refer to as "ex-cons in a basement", they don't believe that the company has any intention of following through on their threats.
The lawyer also told me that, they SERIOUSLY DOUBT that I will receive any kind of court summons, but if for any reason I do, then either of them would represent me free of charge and are willing to countersue. In the mean time ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PAY THEM, if you set up any kind of payment you are advised to cancel your account.

Our rights are being violated by this company, but they are so slimy trying to hide behind their threatening phone calls without showing themselves as a legitimate establishment. Be aware that I also have unauthorized hard credit inquires on 2 of the bureaus from the "process server". I believe they run your credit as a hard inquiry to gain your personal information and attempt to collect on accounts that are no longer collectable. I've done an immense amount of research on this "business" for the past 5 days, because of the scare they caused me and my family, referencing legal matters (mind you, I am not a criminal, I have no charges, and was very worried when they started calling me to tell me I have a failure to be served court summons). I'm sure that there are plenty of local attorneys that will take your case if there is any serving of court documents from these scandalous people. I was also advised to file a complaint with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, which was just done. DON'T LET THESE PEOPLE INTIMIDATE YOU, gather as much information as you can and take it to the CFPB to file additional complaints.

I HOPE YOU HAVE FOUND THIS INFORMATION HELPFUL!

The statement that I sent the attorneys is pasted below (minus personal information).

I have saved voicemails from someone calling from an unknown number saying that they are from the county process service department and have a failed attempted to serve me at the location on file, this matter requires my immediate attention and I need to contact the issuing office at 1-888-738-5753 and reference the case number provided. The call ended with "you are in jeopardy of missing your court date, consider yourself notified!". The second voicemail said they have a second failed attempt to serve me and  my sister and we are in jeopardy of missing the court date as well as in jeopardy of getting a failure to serve. I have no idea why this "county process service department" is looking for a matter that would involve both me and my sister.
I called the phone number 888-738-5753 and have was hung up on 2 times and told I was playing games and disgruntled (because I told them that if they werent recording the call i was going to), before getting information from someone on the 3rd call, which I recorded. When answering they stated different names for their "firm"; Hadley Cooper and Associates law firm and Legal office of Hadley Cooper. The account they referenced is was one that I have been disputing for years because it was fraud; I did not open the account, someone else did. It is currently in dispute status AND past the statute of limitations in my state.
The "county process service department" also called multiple family members who have texted and called me worried about me because it sounded like I am facing a serious legal issue. I searched for hours attempting to find information on their company and all I could find was information on a company in London.

They have not contacted me directly, but they left a voice mail about me for a relative of mine. It is frightening...I hope all my other relatives don't start getting harrassed! As I said...they have not contacted me at all. I reported them to the FTC.

Hadley Cooper. It doesn't exist. Ryan Hart used the 888 number and 909-247-3239. This is a scam and attempted wire fraud.

Find out about the debt from this scumbag including account numbers then tell him you'll call him back. File a complaint against Hadley Cooper AND the original account holder. Also file a complaint with the California DOJ since that's where this dirtbag lives.

Emails are NOT considered official notification of anything.  Demand a WRITTEN copy of this "problem" that is MAILED (post office) to you.  That would be the official notification (but don't expect anything to come).  Pay nothing until that arrives - the company has 5 days to reply to your request.

CWG40 has a link to report these "people" a few posts above yours.
