I received a call from this number saying "Employment Verification" from a recorded voice - they said my name and employment verification and to call them back, but did not identify who they were. Not calling them back since I have no idea who it is.

I own a business and the people that called from this number tried to get information on an employee, but they would not tell me who they were so I didn't tell them squat. Then when I got a little more aggressive about what they were calling in reference to and to identify themselves, they refused and told me not to call them back. Sounds like a scam to me and I will certainly be warning my employee that someone may have attained information about where they work and are fishing for more info.

This company is nothing more than a bill collector using questionable tactics.
I have them in my call list and just ignore when they call.
However, this time right after they tried to call me and I did not answer, they called my father and got up very upset. They claimed there was a legal case against me and there was a warrant for my arrest and I needed to call them ASAP.

I called them to try to get them not to call my parents and they are very rude and at one point, was hollering and cusing at me, and calling me names. Of course they would not identify themselves

They called my office last Friday (using phone # 888-772-9134) and said I had 1 hour to contact them or they will serve me with a lawsuit. Said to the guy that answered the phone at work that it sure would be embarassing for me to get serve a lawsuit at my office. They called again today (from 888-772-9119) with the same line of bull.  When asked the name of the company he said it was "Process Verification". Also claimed that they tried twice on Friday to serve me (nobody showed up to my work that I know of). Wanted to know if there was any other way to reach me or find out where I was. He also tried to claim that he had  court documents. But when questioned further he hung up. Now my understanding is if a company has been hired to serve documents on someone, they have to serve them - not call and give the person they were suppose to serve a chance to buy their way out.

I work corporate compliance, we received a call from a gentleman who stated he was trying to get in touch with an employee to serve her with papers. When asked if it was a subpoena he stated that they has already attempted to deliver once already, and the employee is close to missing a court date. I stated I could not give any information on this employee but if it is of a personal matter they would need to meet her at her home to legally deliver the documents. Upon further investigation - we have no employee by that name and I returned their call with the number they provided - the number was answered by a gentleman who answered "Compliance". When I proceeded to explain the person they were looking for was not employed by our organization he was very polite and stated he removed our number from their system. A little more investigation - debt collectors. Good luck!

yea it is amazing. i read all the posts about this number and all our case numbers are the same. lol they just change the letters to signify the state. amazing

I received a call from this number, 888-772-9119, as well. They are trying to collect on a CC debt for a relative and have called 3 members of our family. I believe they tried to call us about a year ago for the same purpose, but gave up. At that time they stated that they attempted to serve summons, which was untrue, because the family member had been home all day when they supposedly tried to serve them. They are bullies who leave garbled messages that never mention the name of their business when they call.

Got a call from them today saying that i owe them 1400 dollars and r taking me to court. Im from oklahoma . I told them i can pay them off slowy be they said no.

These crazy ppl keep calling me SCREAMING in the phone that they are going to make 2 attempts to deliver "formal" documents to my address.  This is a new "trick" they must be trying out to confirm ppl's address and phone #.  So lame.  I don't owe anyone anything and I'm not behind on any bills.  I just closed on my first house, I'm pretty positive if there was something out there I'd know about it.  I'm not sure how, but, they got my moms cell phone number and started calling looking for me and leaving the same message.  I'm going to report these losers, if they are calling you, do the same.

I had an answering machine message today that left 888-772-9119 as the number to call back with any questions. There also was a case number. The name of the business was not mentioned. The message said that official documents were going to be delivered for a "Jesse Carver." I don't know Jesse. It is very annoying to receive these calls at my home number for someone I've never heard of.

My landlord was called by these people yesterday and told they needed to verify my address so they can serve papers.  He of course confirmed that they do have my correct address, and then called me and left a message stating that it is a litigation firm called the RS Group, and gave me the 888-772-9119# and a case number to call them back.  After checking on the internet I see that they are a collection company that uses this tactic all the time.  It appears they go after debts that are past the statute of limitations, and from what seems to get posted....no one ever seems to really be served.  I sent my landlord a message telling him this is a scam collection agency and that he should not deal with them, or give them any info, in the future.  My worry is the harassing phone calls to him will now not stop sine he has spoken to them once.  Embarrassing? Slightly. I have been ignoring these phone calls for quite some time because I knew if they were going to serve me, they would have.  How do you make them stop altogether though?

Rec'd a call from 1.888.772.9119 saying they were making 2 attempts to deliver important documents for an Amanda P Lynch at this residence. I was to call them immediately if there was no one at this residence by that name. Here's the kicker...I've been getting notices like this off and on for 5-6 years! I've called and written multiple places telling them I was NOT Amanda P Lynch, I do not know an Amanda P Lynch nor am I related to an Amanda P Lynch...I'm always told they will remove my number. So, today I begin the same thing I've been saying for the last 5-6 years...and the jerk on the other end of the phone had the nerve to say "Mamm, you do know what PURGERY is do you not?!"...Are you flippling kidding me? I know what it is...I also know I don't like being called a liar by a complete stranger and I also know that I've had ENOUGH!...Someone needs to shut these people DOWN!

Be careful, I did some investigating and this is not a collection agency.  I am going to the Police with the messages left on my phone.  I was told if you received a call from this number go directly to the police!  They already have your personal information.

This is nothing more than someone who is trying to collect nothing.  They are nasty and rude and like to use nasty language.   They will not give you info on anything.  Don't fall for this

From mid july 2012 til end of August...their annoying calls,,,harassment,,have humiliated me...have affected my health...seemed defenseless..have prayed a lot...could not believe that there are people who are capable of doing what they are doing...so unprofessional..intimidating...threatening...I decided to,fight back...so to those who are victimized by their annoying, abusive calls..find  means to fight back..to those people who have been using this bad phone number...8887729119 ....please be human enough to live and let live...

Report them to bbb and federal trade commission...but who they are..we do not know...better you change your phone number..or just have a cell phone..disconnect your landline...do not answer any unknown or  those 88888888888 numbers....or report them to the police with your list of their calls...they should let us live in peace....

Have now received three calls from these jerks.  I hung up on the first one, when the phone rang again I picked it up quickly and overheard the "caller" call me a "dumb [***] customer" to one of his fellow harassers.  I sure would love the name of this company to file an harassment claim.  Call just came in at 8 a.m. and I'm fuming.  They are looking for another person with a name close to ours and will NOT stop.

So we have a company that has been calling for awhile now, but it seems lately they are calling one of our numbers everyday at 7am. Now this is early I know and even more proof that the company has no idea what is really going on. You see we have a number from another state than we live in, and even more so one that is 2 times zones away too. Hence they are calling the number at 9am its local time, but 2 hours too early for ours.

The number that called this morning is 888-772-9134. This number, according to reports at 800notes.com belongs to a company called RS Group. They are also reported to use the numbers 888-772-9119 & 888-772-9116, which we’ve also received phone calls from.

I called the number and spoke with “Jay” in the “Compliance Department”.  He told me he was with “Recovery Specialist(s) Group”. After asking numerous times for their Public Relations Officer, a phone number, or an address I can write to (which he never provided), I was put on speaker phone with him and their “in House Counsel “Reuben Stein”".

I stated the purpose of my call again, of course they still did not comply.

I admittedly did call with a rouse, that I was an online blogger (which I am), and that I write for an online community (which I do), but that I was trying to defend companies from being called scams/frauds. Although this last piece is a stretch, if I were to find that this or any other company were legitimate, I would write that up as well, so I was only a half truth.

While “Jay” was attempting to probe me for information he asked about my DBA (Doing Business As) or my California Business license/number. I explained that I am not a company, and that you don’t need a business license to operate a blog. Social engineering is a complex art, and sometimes you have to give information to get some in return. What I got from “Jay” was that they are located in California. People for the most part are narrow scoped, operating in what they know to be law, which is usually local law. Therefore when “Jay” asked for a DBA and/or my California license number, we divulged some information about the company.

About a month ago this company called and said they had papers from the county to serve me and wanted my address. I cursed them out. I received another call today. I decided to turn the tables and find out as much info about this company I could. Here is what i discovered.

Now armed with this info: I called RSG as they like to say and advised them that I have papers to send to them from the county. I would like to verify there address and I read the above info. First I got who is this and how did you get this address.  He then looked up my # and said Mr. James I am closing your file.  We will see and I will update if I get any more calls.
