Received a call from this number.  They did not identify themselves. They left two phone numbers for me to call them back on, the first being the 888 number and the second one belonged to a "Magic Jack" customer.  I am on the National Do Not Call List and would like to know how to make this type of call stop. Any suggestions or ideas out there to help?

This is a debt collector or asset locator, they won't tell me which when I return their calls.  They might be trying to locate a relative that might have a debt.  They will tell you falsehoods about what they are doing as well.  They kept leaving messages that they were going to serve me because they couldn't locate my nephew.

Called for my gf, kept receiving calls for this # about a Bank of America Credit Card that she had over 6 years. Very rude, agent was cursing and calling me names, i would like information how i can get them to stop calling. He said he had papers to serve, I told him to serve the papers. SOL is expired by now I assume. Can they still pursue legal actions?

They called threatening me saying they have legal doc's and when I would be home to deliver them. I said good send em on over. They call from a private number, yelling and trying to scare you. Then they called my ex husband who i have not been married to for 6 years. Over and Over, Easy way to get them off your back is to call, from a blocked number...give them your number and tell them to remove it from the call list.

My dad's home line got a call asking for me from this number saying they were trying to deliver documents to my friends ex girlfriend?  Completely random.  Her and I are friends, but she doesn't know my dad's home line or physical address, both of which the agent had.  She also claimed a few of her friends and family have gotten similar calls, but when she called them back directly they wouldn't tell her anything.

I have received calls from this company for months, even though I have no outstanding debt at all.  I was happy to ignore them, until they started calling my work.  How in the heck they got my work number I do not know.  They threatened that they were "interceding" on behalf of a lawsuit and wanted to know where to send documents and used my nickname because it is how I have it on my voicemail.  They called my work number and told my boss they were calling regarding a lawsuit.  I called them back and told them to stop calling me, but, of course, it was useless.  I am certain they are just phishing, but they have really gone too far.  My guess is that it will not stop, so I will have to take it a step further and report them to authorties.  Really irritating.

Called me this morning on my cell phone from a blocked #, leaving a vm about delivering documents for an ex-boyfriend who I have not been with for over 9-10 years. Said it was about a Metris Mastercard that I was listed as an authorized user on. I have never heard of this credit card nor was I ever an authorized user. They said he could have put me on the account without my knowledge and I'm therefore responsible for half. Nice. Said it would be going to a small claims/civil lawsuit and I will be receiving paperwork. Ugh! What is going on?!?!?!

They called my moms house trying to find a relative. They told my mother that my father (elderly man) had authority to sign the papers. The guy said he was desperate trying to find this relative. I called and the guy answered Investigations. I gave him the case number. He started asking more questions. I stopped him and told him that before I answer anymore of his questions, I needed to know the name of his company. He got stupid and told me that he didn't have to tell me who he was and to call back when I get manners. I called back, got another guy on the phone. He answered RS Group. He asked me my name and I told him before I give it to him I'm going to do some research online.  First of all, the case number is not a valid State of Florida case number. Second, any professional company, collector or attorneys office will give you their name with no problems. Third, when an attorney needs to serve you papers, you don't get a phone call, you get a knock on your door from a Process Server with actual papers. Hope this helps someone. Don't give your social or any info. to anyone over the phone.

    How to [***] them back
Whenever you get a call from this #, just tell them "there is no one here by that name." If they try to punk you or intimidate u saying "yes this is their number and ur lying," tell them to shut up and that this is a new #, you just got it a few weeks ago. Then tell them if they call again you will report them to the authorities. That will get them off your backs.

Or if they keep calling you because they know the person does live there, then the next time they call just tell them that the individual has moved to another country. Like China or Mongolia or some [***]. Then they'll ask "who's taking care of their business," then you reply, "no one!"

That will ge them to [***] off......

I just got a voicemail saying that they needed to serve my ex-wife with papers regarding some claim.  We have been divorced for nearly two years.  I reported this on the FTC complaint website. https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

These people are ruthless. They're not only very unprofessional; they said things to me that were basically criminal in nature. I couldn't get them to quit calling so I decided to turn the tables on them.

I used my home phone and cell phone and had one in one hand and one in the other and just kept hitting redial. I also put both phones on speaker so I could hear the aggravation and frustration that I was now causing them. Then they tried some silly scare tactic and started answering the phone saying "You've reached the Department of Defense. You are to cease calling immediately. These are terrorists call and we will be coming to get you." The morons don't realize that as they're saying that I'm hearing my other phone ringing in the background. Occasionally I would pause to ask them if they had had enough and if they quit calling me I would so the same. They said that they wouldn't. After about 30 minutes of it one of the guys answered and immediately said "OK, if you leave us alone we'll leave you alone. No more phone calls from us. Do we have a deal?" I was tempted to tell him to eff off and keep calling but didn't.

For several weeks, several times every day, I got phone calls from a local number (actually, two similar local numbers) that never left a message. I have a rule these days that if I don't recognize the number and there's no Caller ID information, I just let it ring. Out of desperation, I finally answered the call. A robotic voice said they had information for Shawn (Shaun?) Fuller, and asked if I was that person. If yes, I was to press "1". No other choice (like "Press '2' if you aren't) was offered. I didn't press "1" (I'm not Shawn Fuller, and I don't know any Shawn Fuller), and the other end eventually just hung up on me. After several more of these calls, I decided to see what would happen if I pressed "1". I finally got a live operator, who asked if I was Shawn Fuller. I got really angry, and within seconds she said she would remove my number from the system and hung up on me. That was a few days ago, and I haven't gotten any more of those calls. A few minutes ago, I just received a voice mail from this number on my cell phone. The message read as follows: "Attempts to notify Paul Fuller have been completed [I'm not Paul Fuller and never heard the name before]. If you have any questions about the file we have for you, call 888-772-9524."

They called my house looking for my "brother"  and said it was for a pending lawsuit. They  want his  number. I did not give out. When I tried to call back the number says front desk, they would not talk with me
I think its a scam. why would they be calling from a 1 -888 number?

This is a scam and in answer to an earlier post toll free numbers are fairly cheap and easy to get and you don't have to be a business to get one

this # actually showed up as 888-555-5555, the vm they left said they were verifying my employment. and gave a different # which was the 888-772-9524. I called back and some "Jay" answered the phone-very rude and wouldnt say y he was calling but said i was gonna have a warrant issued for my arrest-and i hadnt even said who i was! interesting they could serve me anything without verification of who i was.
