- Madison 555| 1 replyThe caller said she was from the Breast Cancer Relief Foundation and solicited a donation.
- Caller: Breast Cancer Relief Foundation
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- TOM| 7 repliesI got a call from this organization. The caller was very polite and courteous. I happily gave a donation and I would give again if they called me back. I wish every call I got at home was like the one from this company.
- PJ| 1 replyI received a call from this number requesting a donation for 'Connecticut Assoc. for Police Officers'. I made a pledge and, after the fact, checked charitynavigator.com for the name and then checked (1)phone number in the reverse phone directory, (2) address and (3) business name...nada for that organization. I have received 2 invoices, and I do not plan to pay the pledge. I will NOT be caught again.

- Mr. 17$ an hr| 7 repliesActually, for all you people who think this number is a scam. Dream on
This is a 100% legit business which is registered with the attorney general in 6 states. Its a 501(-)c3 which means your donation is tax deductible. Yes they are paid callers who work 11 out of 24 hours of the day to raise money for policemen, firemen and breast cancer, but who does things for free anymore these days? its 2008 not 1987 people volunteer to help others give blood. People have to make a living just like everyone reading this message
They have been in business for over 12 years and does not think about stopping. This place has tremendous credibility as it has given over thousands of jobs to people all over the state.
They do not represent themselves as police firemen or breast cancer patients, but they call on behalf of them. Money does not go to your local police its always statewide appeals.
If people would like to talk smack about this place, its purely a lie and you should all be shot.
The owner is a great guy, the atmosphere is great, pick your own schedule capeable of making alot of money. All it is is a job for people to have. Cant take it to heart when someone is trying to pay their bills with that money. so be considerable next time we call you
THIS IS NOT A SCAM INFACT ITS ONE OF THE FEW TELEMARKETING PLACES I KNOW THAT IS 100% LEGIT AND BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR 12 YEARS. HELP OUT THE CAUSE- Caller: COD INC.
- Walter from Long Island replies to PJThey told me they are representing the 'Injured Firefighters Fund'. They call incessantly, 2-3 times a day, with the number coming up on my caller ID as Unknown name, Unknown number, but I asked for and got a call back number of 8887757789. I will NOT be calling them back, and plan on reporting them to Verizon as a harassing caller. Warn ALL of your friends about these frauds!!
- Walter from Long Island replies to Mr. 17$ an hr| 3 repliesNice try, but you forgot to explain how the money is distributed by this 'charitable' organization. I don't give to a charity unless I know that he money is going to that cause, and NOT to pay the hourly wages of these solicitors, plus the salary of the "NICE GUY" who runs this scam. They say who they are trying to raise funds for? But they HIDE the name of the organization they truly represent, because they know if people investigated it, they would give NOTHING, just like I plan on doing. That's why their number comes up UNKNOWN on caller ID's all over the country. You, sir, are a fraud, just like this organization!
- Walter from Long Island| 2 repliesThey call all day and evening long, puproting to be soliciting for charities. Yet they hide behind an unidentifiable (unless you ask, like I did) phone number. One poster claims they are registered with Attorney Generals in 6 states. What about the other 44 states? Hmmm, something is fishy here. Give them nothing, just hang up! Don't forget to report the them to www.donotcall.gov if you're registered on the do not call list. They need to be fined and shut down!
- Caller: Unknown Number (8887757789)
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MR. COD replies to TOM| 3 repliesSee, this is a courteous post. Obviously this man liked the way we sounded and everyone at our offices are very polite. Everyone else just does not like people who call them at home or just doesn't want to give money to worthy causes.
Thanks for the kind words Tom - B.S. Detector replies to MR. COD| 2 repliesI hate to burst your bubble, but it's more than a little obvious that "Tom" and "Mr. Cod" are the same person. If you are going to post fake reports here, at least try to make them believable.
- Tim replies to Walter from Long Island| 1 replyWalter, you are very misinformed my friend. We do not hide the name if the charity, as a matter of fact it's one of the first things we mention. "Hi, it's Tim calling on behalf of (charity name)." The number doesn't show up on your caller id because we have a automatic dialing system. We are only registered with 6 states because we only call 6 states. We simply don't have the man power to call anymore, also there is no point of calling most states because the time zones and the time difference. By the way the Do Not Call list doesn't apply to non-profit charities. So there will be no fines and we won't be shut down. Thanks Walter. It's been a pleasure. Take care.
- ricky| 3 repliesi did my research about the telemarketing place and it legit...i had my lawyers take a look into it....what they do they raise funds for all diffrent type of charities
- Marie| 2 repliesHate to burst your bubble Walter, but just because they only call 6 states, does not mean they are not legitimate. Did you stop to think that maybe they can only cover the northeast?
By the way, Walter, you should check https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx again. There's a reminder in BOLD that says charities, political organizations, and telephone surveyors MAY still call you even if you're registered on the do not call list. - Beware of this!they call 3-4 times a day and are sometimes nice and sometimes nasty. They even claim that we made a previous donation. I ask them to provide me the information about my last donation, amount, date etc and they can never do it. A legit company who claims I made a donation to them would certainly know this info before they try to solicit again. Furthermore, I have asked them to stop calling and harrassing me and they keep doing so. What charitable organization wants their name smeared by a telemarketing company that when asked not to be harrassed continues do so? This is a scam and these people are trying to solicit money from people who think they are doing a kind thing. Be warned.
- Caller: Firefighters support foundation
- ccr| 3 repliesThis number calls me unidentified several times a day. When I wait for the caller to come to the line I always get someone very polite, identifying themselves from a charity. Always a different charity many of which are listed in previous posts. I have called the 888 number during business hours and have asked to be removed from the call list. It stops for a couple of days then starts up again. I thought calling from an unidentified line was illegal. Is there a way to get this company to stop calling me?
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Stephanie replies to B.S. Detector| 1 replyExcept why would the same person come back months later to add to their point? Nice attempt to try and be a genius though. I've had no problems with this number - they are always kind and seem really enthusiastic. Keep up the good work!
- Richard replies to Mr. 17$ an hrI appreciate all the work you're doing!
- You are all Disrespectful & Rude replies to ccr| 2 repliesOkay, I am completely sick of people complaining about these phone calls. The people on the other end are just trying to earn a living just like the rest of us. After reading some of the ignorant/negative comments that people took time to write I decided I needed to say something.
Sometimes the people are nice and sometimes they are rude, yes. However I am certain if the people that they were calling weren't so obnoxious and horrible then they wouldn't be as "rude" which is why I try my best to be polite whenever I receive a phone call.
I've done my research and am completely aware that most of these professional fundraising companies are 100% legit.
You can sit around and complain about how you are annoyed that they are calling and asking for money as much as you want, but why bother? If you are so bothered by it then just politely ask to be removed from the list. There is no need to yell, scream and curse at someone who is just doing their job. No matter how much you dislike it.
I am disgusted at some of the comments I have seen online in the past few days. If you are this fed up with the phone calls then don't bother answering your phone. Why waste your time? More importantly why waste their time? - Susan| 1 replyLegit or not, they have a PR issue. Here is my call just now from the Breast Cancer Foundation. I am completely offended, much moreso than all the other people who hang up on me. You tell me if they are 100% empassioned to their cause...
BREAST CANCER FDTN CALLER: Id'd herself as from the Breast Cancer Fdtn, told me they were on a fundraiser, etc.
ME: Let me stop you there. I was diagnosed and survived Breast Cancer last year, and as a result I am completely broke and cannot contribute.
BREAST CANCER FDTN CALLER: I am sorry to hear that. Click. Hung up.- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Ex-telescammerIt's Community Service Inc. Offices in NJ, WI, and NV. They are a scam. I worked for them. 15% of the money goes to the organization.
- Caller: breast cancer relief
- Call type: Telemarketer
- BUSTED! replies to TOMOK. Let me shed some light on this first hand - in 2 visits to this company - I definitely had their number.
No one with any business savvy running the office except 20 something college students and a guy that pops his face around once in a blue moon.
No one willing to discuss and lock in a starting salary or discuss what sales percentage are needed to get $9 $10 $11 $12 an hour like a real employer would. Just "we'll see how you do" "its based on sales" well how much sales are indicitave of $10/hr or $12? why did they say $8-12 to start yet no one can tell you how to get 12 instead of 8?
The Community Support website says ...In our State of the Art Call Center facilities" LOLOLOL :D which are Preprinted stacks of scripts in 3inch 3 ring binders, folding tables, computers from 1985, music blasting in the background and no dividers like in a regular call center so you aren't talking over each other. I guess with a hit and run business like this folding tables are easier to move to the next town/district when you get found out.
Their website is scarce at best with no client list or testimonials from claimed contracted charities. If they do such "good work" why aren't these charities singing their praises and writing testimonials.
If you call the corporate office you have to call back to speak to "bill" the owner. (not even a support staff to speak to a non profit looking to utilize their service and take the call! ummm that would mean you don't work with legitimate charities - you're not even set up to recieve calls from them and no charity would hire such a service that explicitly states they donate "NO LESS than 1%" to the charity! NO LESS than ? wow! so you GUARANTEE 1% and keep 99% for yourself (yes people that is scripted response if a question is posed when you place a call to someone at home asking them for $)
Oh and last but not least - BBB Accreditation was revoked on 6/1/2009!!!
If you look up Suzan G Komen on BBB.org for cancer charity - THEY have submitted ALL their information because they are A legitimate CHARITY and want to keep the cause going so they take the time to send in all their paperwork in order to keep serving its purpose - find a cure! and show anyone with any question they are on the up and up.
Why 3 inches of preprinted scripts for over 100 so called charities?
Are they really contracted to work for all these organizations at the same time or so often that these scripts are kept on hand to all callers? Doubtful. If they do sooooo much work for these charities - where are the testimonials from the charities. They switch it up to make the employee feel a new contract just came down the pike from a charity so they make the switch to police instead of cancer and everyone feels like they are doing actual work.
And if someone wants to know how much is given to the charity - you have to call an 800 and talk to someone else at CSI. HOW ABOUT giving them the number and address of the Charity so we can ask THEM what CSI has done for them?
too many red flags.= Not legitimate business practice.
Business Ethics 101 kids - try to find a loophole - and you will end up hanging yourself in the end.
good luck to the people who have donated money to this guy's pocket. At least their heart was in the right place even though their money didn't end up in one.
