National Benefits is what they claim to be. They tell you that you are gettin health insurance and its not.

I have received at least 10 calls today on my cell phone from this company.  The calls come from numerous area codes but the number they tell you to call back on is 888-800-5064.  They state that they have approved your health insurance plan that you requested.

My caller id says AAMB. This stands for American Association for Medical Benefits. The caller said that "I was pre-approved for the health insurance I inquired about" (and repeated it again at the end of the message). Superpages.com called the company "America's Insurance Consultants" and listed a web site of http://nbaabenefits.com, which redirects to http://www.aamedicalbenefits.com/. This site states "This plan is NOT a health insurance policy.".

Rip-off - don't buy.

BBB say "Complaints concern selling practices and billing disputes including misrepresentation of services, payment processing issues, failure to refund monies paid and poor customer service.

Sales Practices: Consumers allege that company representatives led them to believe that they were purchasing health insurance, not a medical discount plan. Other consumer allege that they were misinformed about the nature of the plan including the underwriter and costs of health care services with the plan. In addition, consumers allege that they were misinformed about doctors, hospitals and prescriptions covered by the plan. The company responds by stating that the sales verification was recorded and the consumer acknowledged that this was not health insurance, but a medical savings plan. The company further responds that they do not guarantee participation of providers in the networks.

Payment processing: Consumers allege that payments were processed prior to the agreed upon date and automatic withdrawals from bank accounts were made without permission. In addition, consumers allege that refunds are not provided or are delayed. The company responds by saying that although the sales verification was recorded, they do not have a record of a requested draft date later that the date the payment was processed. In addition, the company frequently declines to refund the "non-refundable" processing fee citing the sales verification call was recorded and the customer agreed to the non-refundable fee.

Customer Service: Consumers allege that phone calls are not returned, representatives make misleading statements and customers cannot reach the initial sales representative."
