Rose - 3 Apr 2007They call and call and there is no end of it. We tried to answer, but the caller hangs up as soon as we say "Hello". I called the number back and the message said the mailbox is full.

Valarie - 19 May 2007Call several times. I finally was home to answer it today and they hung up when I told them my husband wasn't home (they asked for him). I tried calling the number back and it said that I needed to call some international number for a charge of $5 and some change. I tried calling the number back to listen to the message again and just got a busy signal.

David Dunn - 8 Jun 2007They call all hours of the day and evening. When you answer there is no one there and they never leave a message on my answering machine. They are a real nuisance and have called every single day for at least three weeks now. What can I do to stop this harassment?

When I Google the #, people say it is the Indiana State Trooper's Association calling me. Here are the #'s they have currently used to call me. 800-784-0119 1-866-856-0111 1-877-286-0028 and 1-888-816-0054.

DOC - 16 Dec 2007YEP THESE ARE THE SAME NUMBERS THEY USE ON ME. I DONT HAVE A LISTED NUMBER AND NEVER USE THIS NUMBER. NEVER GAVE IT OUT BUT THEY HAVE MY NUMBER AND WONT STOP CALLING. AND ITS A DIFFERENT NUMBER EVERYTIME. THEY USE THERE 4 NUMBER FREQUENTLY.

mamakin - 28 Feb 2008This # 8004160058 has been appearing on my caller id. Just a few minutes ago I received another call and this time they asked for MR.(my last name) and I said there is no MR. Then they said MRS. please. I asked who was calling and they replied 'Indiana Troopers Association". I laughed and said, " Good Luck!"
I am on the no call list, doesn't seem to matter. The phone call came in @ 8:02pm which is in violation of telemarketing laws anyway.I called back and the mailbox is full of course. I *67 before I dialed and got a recording saying how sorry they were that I was unable to reach them.HA.
Tomorrow I am filing a report with the BBB.
Has anyone heard of the 'Rip Off Report'? It's a legit website. Found out some very interesting info there on the company that is contracted by this supposed organization. As a retired paralyzed veteran I am throughly disgusted with these tactics and now wish I had stayed on the line to gather more info and give them back a dose of their own medicine.
Please don't let these callers scam you as most of the money they collect lines some scam artists pockets. If you wish to donate to a charity call the BBB first! Good luck to all and may they get their just rewards.

indydog - 3 Jul 2007they call about three times a day and about evey other day. i'm disabled to move fast, so I allways ck my voice mail and no ones there. When I try to call them back,no ansewer and mail box fill. I google all phone numbers now, because that week , there was a faud debit collecters trying to get money out of me , on a old debit that was pulled off the report. you can trust anyone any more. That just hurts the good .org and foundations. so now I look up every number that I don't know. just don't pay unless in writing. there should be something we can do. but how can we fight back ????? dp. indy

stop the maddness - 10 Aug 2007I keep getting calls from this number as well. Not surprised to see that it's the Indiana Troops hired solicitor. I have had them call at work..they were rude, annoying and pushy. I eventually called the police myself and they gave me an address that I could send my money directly so that the children the donation was to benefit would still receive funds.

From Indy - 11 Aug 2007This # has been calling us evday for over 2 wks. Never a person on the line and it hangs up. When we call it back, it doesn't give the comp name and says the box is full. I called AT&T and they don't know who it is & told me I could block up to 10 calls for $5 a month. Since we are on the do not call list, she gave me 888-382-1222. I don't know if this is call from the Ind Troop Assoc or not, but you may want to read an article from www.afpnet.org. In the search box, type in Indiana's do-not-call law. Under the area that has DATE TITLE you'll see a link in black letters of Indiana's Do-Not-Call Law Upheld. We have given to the Trooper's numerous times, but always from a local call and they mail us info after the call. We can't be the only people that this is happening to. I will be calling 888-382-1222 to look into this. cs

4sarge - 20 Sep 2007Indiana Troopers Association calling from a Fund Raising firm in West Virginia from this telephone number and several others. They either call and do not leave a message or ask for me and when contact is made, the line disconnects. Yesterday I filed a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General's Office because I am on their Do Not Call List. After receiving another similar call this AM, I called the Indiana Troopers Association directly and reported the problem to them. The lady was very nice and said that the telephone calls were endorsed by their organization and that they hire the telephone solicitors and that way it circumvents the Indiana Soliciting Law but she said that she would remove my telephone number from their listings.

3D - 9 Jul 2008I have been receiving these as well. I just called the number listed above (1-800-671-9851) and the person who picked up confirmed that they have been having recent issues with their call center(s) making automated calls. Apparently, there's a software issue whereby the automated system calls people with either no one on the line to state why they are calling, or very long delays before the representative starts speaking.
I asked to be taken off their list and she was happy to do so (she was very nice).
