My business keeps getting calls for some guy from this number.  I called them today and was told they will take the number out of their system.  Here is the info on what company this is:

    Linebarger & Assoc
    600 17th Street, Suite 800N
    Denver, CO 80202

They are a collection agency, but seemed to be polite when I requested their information.  I will update, if I get another call from them.

Rec'd a call on 10/27/09. Polite, gave me name of firm as Linebarger and Associates.  Claimed to be collecting on outstanding invoice in the amount of 17.31 from local hospital for procedure performed in 2005.  Wanted to settle on the phone; I said 'no.'  I asked for invoice to be mailed.  She said "our letters go out in batches; collection activity will continue."
There is nothing on my credit report re this item

I too, have received at least two calls from this number.  The callers have been different each time.  The caller is demanding $135 they say I owe from a medical bill in 2005.  While there's some truth to the fact I had medical bills in 2005, there's also truth to the statement that this bill/invoice has been paid in full TO a collection's firm: $4,980.00 in six equal pmts of $830 each beginning on Dec. 15th 2007 and the final pmt on May 4th of 2008.  Consequently, I don't believe the calls are based on a legitimate debt.  I gave them my e-mail address so they could send me a copy of the original invoice/bill.  They refused...

Got the same "Medical Bill" response from Linebarger and Associates for a debit in 2000.  I am not aware of this debt and asked for an invoice.  They declined and said we had to pay $50.00.  I said I would be happy to if they could provide an invoice.  They declined and said they would continue collection actions.

I have repeatedly gotten calls from this number. It is always a prerecorded message. The message usually states this is a call for. It never states a name for who its calling for. I never return the calls because I do not have any debt that needs collecting. I have gotten at least a dozen messages on my voice mail over the last year. But, in the last month and a half I have gotten at least 1 message a week from them. In the last week I have gotten 2 messages on my voice mail and they have called twice in the evening and there was nothing on the other end. I did a call return and it came up with the number of Linebarger. It has started to become irritating. I am considering calling the phone company to have this number blocked or to see if the phone company can offer some sort of assistance.

This same person keeps calling my wife's cell phone number which USED TO belong to some named Harold Burgess who apparently owes these folks some money. I am damn sick of them wasting call-minutes this way. ENOUGH. Update your records.

Have received several robo-calls left on my home answering machine from Jason Koontz(?) at Linebarger, (inaudible name), & Sampson over the last year.
The calls are identical and go something like, "This is a call for ________ [no name given]. If you are not ________ [no name given], then please hang up. After a three second pause, please listen for the following message. [1 second pause] Please call Jason Koontz (Kuhn?) at Linebarger, (inaudible name), & Sampson 1-888-816-5845. This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information you give may be used for that purpose."
Reminds of the bit on Firesign Theater's "We're All Bozos on the Bus" record in which the Mister President hologram talks to "uh Barney".

After the third call, I dialed 1-888-816-5845 and asked to speak to Jason Koontz. Told that he was not in. I explained to the polite drone who answered my call that I knew of no personal debt under collection and asked, after spelling out my name, that my name and phone number be removed from the company's database and that I get no more calls. I was cheerfully told my request would be honored. Clearly not true. I'm up to around call number seven now.

If I were a cynic, I would suspect that Linebarger is engaging in the debt collection equivalent stock broker cold-calling, i.e. keep dialing until you find a sucker. But, of course, I'm not a cynic. Nope. Not me.

We are receiving calls about an unpaid parking ticket from 10 years ago with a license plate number that we do not own.  We have actually talked to a human several times and they are rude, uncooperative and vague- not willing to give any details of the debt- they won't give us a date, ticket number, etc..  We have asked for a written invoice twice and have gotten no response which is in violation of the consumer bill of rights.  Why in God's name would I give my credit card number to some idiot with no verification that I owe them anything.  BE VERY WARY!!
