Pathetic lying scammer! - Shirley| 1 replyThese people are threatening my mother-in-law and telling her I am going to be arrested. I have asked them to stop the harassing calls to family members but they persist. I have received NOTHING in writring from this company and will not give out personal information over the phone.

- dawnI had dealings with them this month, I was shocked to get a call from them out of the blue and was thinking they might be a scam but they sent me paperwork to me that proved they are legit... They got me a reduction on my past due loan and also provided me with info on how to get my credit back on track..They were professional, understanding, and fair... I wish everyone made things this simple...
- Lori replies to deleted postDon't ever give your credit card number. I was scamed 2 years ago for the same thing. They threaten you that you are going to go to jail, etc and wont work with you to make payments. They just called my mom and said this was a social security issue and I had options and they were looking for me but not my legal name me. I am one in the same and the law states that these companies MUST send you something in writing giving you 30 days to accept or deny a claim. They refuse to do that but will if you give them your credit card. NO WAY. This is not legal practice!!!! Believe me I will call this guy back and tell him exactly this. If I do owe this company money than I want to see what it is first. Beware of scam artists. They are out there believe me!!!!!
- Lori replies to ShirleyShirley you are smart not to give them any information. The Fair Debt Act specifically states they MUST send you something in writing and if they don't they are in violation of the laws. Besides you cannot go to jail for a debt!!!
- JerryI've done some research and they are indeed SCAM. Anybody who says anything differently is associated with them. I called that Emergency Vet place and they confirmed there was no such law firm or bill collector on the second floor. I have friends whom are lawyers and they all say by law you must receive notifications in the mail regarding the matter before you are threatened with a summons. It is a scam. Don't be intimidated by their threats or phone calls. Also when they called me twice around 10pm I knew right away it was a red flag. Please do not give them your credit card or checking account info.

- The TruthThis thread is infested with the lying scammers themselves, and apparently they barely know the English language. If you're going to lie and try to scare people, at least learn how to write your potential victims' language.
- A Hole ScammersYeah scammers for sure. The people that called me sounded very uneducated with a New York accent. For those who claimed they paid. Post the address of AW and Associates. I had someone check the 1293 Clove Rd in Staten Island that is an invalid address. So Gennell and MS WELLS, please post the address.
- Edward A. RushI was called at work and informed that they noticed some illegal activity with my social security and bank account and asked me to call. The caller said that it was in my best interest and for protection services.

- SueSince anyone can type information on here...who knows who is who. I recieved a call about a so called debt several years ago and was told a summons was going to be sent to me and that I would be put in jail. Well I contacted my local police department who confirmed that they do not put people in jail for an unpaid debt. if/when the summons is sent and I recieve it. I will be happy to go to court. I will not confirm any personal identifying information over the phone nor will i give any credit card or banking information. if this is kegit then i will work it out legally in a court of law.... I am waiting!

- Yeah Right!I just got a call from them also. For them to be "lawyers", you'd think they could speak proper English. The guy that left me the voicemail was barely understandable- I had to replay it 7 times! As for all the positive reviews, maybe some of you are legit... I worked for a really crappy company where the managers would go on boards like this and sing praises to the heavens for the company, so I'm not biting.

- cathy| 1 replyI've received two calls from a restricted number that turned out to be a collection agency looking for a family member. The most recent call came this afternoon. The rep was talking so fast and mushing his words together so much, that I could hardly understand him. He kept saying that my family member was under investigation, at one point he said something about criminal investigation! Clearly he was trying to make me think that my FM was about to be arrested or something. I got this same B.S. spiel the last time they called too!
I kept asking him who he was, what the company name was, etc. He refused to identify the company, but left his name, Justin Banks, and this number as a call back number for me forward. When I pushed for a company name, and more info about how they got my number, etc. I was transferred to a "supervisor" who didn't identify himself at all.
He did the same thing. Talked really fast and didn't articulate at all. When I asked him to slow down and speak more clearly, he started screaming at me. So, I hung up.
Here's the interesting part, 1) my family member said she contacted them the last time they called me and had already proved she didn't owe them a damned thing! 2) When Justin started to give me the phone #, first he said _03. I didn't understand him and I missed the first # so I asked him to start over. When he did, it changed to 888. This prompted me to look back at my phone records from the first time they called. At that time, I was getting tons of calls from 603-214-9001 that I was ignoring. I can't say for certain that they're related, but if anyone is also getting calls from that 603 #, you might want to look into that one too.
So now, me and my FM are both wondering exactly what kind of scam this is because the rep, Justin, was also tossing out my mother's name, asking who she was, etc.
Anyway, once I found this site, I decided to call the number myself. Sure enough, the answering machine said Alexander Williams and Associates. An internet search gave me one hit, the address (this is also the address for an animal clinic) and another phone number 718-447-6114. When I called that one, all I got was what sounded like a home answering machine with an electronic voice saying leave a message. No company name, business hours, nothing.
I have reported this to the FTC, hopefully if they get enough reports they can do something about it.- Caller: Alexander Williams and Associates

- C Poli| 1 replyI was very skeptical when I first received phone calls from this number. When I finally spoke to a man named Peter Walsh, he explained he was contacting me about an outstanding loan I DID have. He was very helpful and kind in helping me resolve my issues with the company I had the loan with. He also worked with me each time I ran into a problem with a scheduled payment. Mr. Walsh was not threatening in any way and I appreciate everything he did to help me. Thank you Mr. Walsh.

- shill alert replies to deleted postYou guys shill a lot on this site, it must really be hurting your "business" huh?
Does your mom know you steal money for a living? - StarzeeThey called today and yesterday and told me today that they hda noticed suspicious activity and thought I might be the victim of ID theft. Yesterday they were with the AG's office and wanted to speak with my supervisor. I Am the supervisor and I told them we don't get mixed up in our employee's personal matters. She was quite ugly and asid they were going to serve me with papers and I said that the best bet would be to serve her at home because we are a secure building and will not accept service.
Just freakin bill collectors. And I'll tell you for those of you who so self-righteously say pay your debts; I PAID these idiots, and they added more charges at the end and those I won;t pay. And quite frankly I feel so strongly about it that they can just take me to court...which they won't because the Judge will see I have paid and throw them out on their ear.
I don't like them asking for my boss, but luckily I, and another person answer the phones here and we just fake em out.
I will be reporting them.- Caller: AW & Asso.
- lawanna thomasstop calling me at my job.you almost cost me my position
- Stop the madness replies to cathyWell I just receive a phone call similiar to the one you recieved. It was in reference to a friend of mines. Fast talking the whole time. What's was crazy about the call is that they ask to speak to a mutual friend of the person they were looking not me. After that I went on the offense. Asked them how they got my number. They said they must have gotten the names mixed up with the numbers as far as references he gave them goes. That just did not sound professional at all. The caller was trying to convince himself that I was the person they were looking for. He gave his name, number and ext to pass along. Guess it does not pay for a friend to use you as a reference with out even letting you know. Hope these folks don't call me anymore.
- tracyThis number just called the receptionist at my place of employment to let her know that he would be coming over shortly with a sheriff. He just wanted the receptionist to know so as not to embarrass me.
