They called my place of work for my father's unpaid bill!!! How they got my number is beyond me.. It caused so much embarrassment. The company name is Alliance One and they notified me that I must've called from my place of work to pay my father's bill so the number is automatically locked down as contact information!!! That's insane they should have a new law that allows privacy from numbers you call from unless you request the number to be used!!

I've now started to call these guys back from a different phone, with an Indian accent (no offense intended to South Asians, that's just where a lot of the calls come from), asking who they are and what they do.    Very funny - they're clearly uncomfortable and obviously not calling people when they're on the phone with me.  

These idiots call people about debts that aren't theirs or were paid years ago.  I've had calls looking for other people, letters addressed to people with similar but not the same names, calls claiming I owed money on accounts that I'd paid in full 6-7 years ago - - these people are scammers.

I am thinking of ditching my land line and just going with my cell phone, as I keep getting calls like this on my land line.  I will block this number.  It has called me several times during the day and evening and now right away 9:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning.  I am not past due on anything.   Those dip-shitz never leave a message, but you can hear them talking to each other in the background before they hear the beep and then they hang up....Blocked
