I have been getting phone calls from this number once a day(!) for the past few months. A machine recording tells me that there is an important legal matter and gives me a number to call (haven't called it). Very annoying.

I called the number back after dealing with a very rude person whom hung up on me.

I spoke with a young woman who identified herself as Ms. Green from the law offices of Bennete, Delainey, and Noive (spelling might be off on those).  The phone call was recorded.  She stated they were collecting a debt on behalf of Walmart, etc. etc.  After we spoke for a little while it became evident that they had the wrong person, and we cleared the matter up.  It is my belief they were calling all people in my area with the same name, hoping to find the right one, in order to collect a debt.  I also believe that they are a collection agency, rather than law offices.  But I have nothing to verify my beliefs.

Jody,

Just so you know, we do not call everyone with the same name in a given area code to collect a debt.  We rely on the best information we can obtain in an effort to locate the correct people.  Unfortunately the information is not infallible, especailly with the mobile demographic who seem to move addresses and phone numbers rather frequently.

Also, we are a law firm, not a collection agency.  Part of our business model is to make phone calls and send letters in an effort to resolve debts for our clients.

Sincerely,

Rich DeLoney

Mr. Deloney,

I have spoken with your supposed "law firm" several times and have been hung up on when trying to make payment arrangemts.  You may be very nice (I will give you the benefit of the doubt), but several people I have talked to in your office are very rude.

Rich,

Your firm has an account with my business.  We stopped a check paid for goods that were not useable.  We agreed to pay for the useable goods, but were refused, the vendor in question would not accept anything less than the amount we were charged.  We still have the goods that we could not use, and have a right not to have to pay for them.  Again, we would pay the difference if given the option.  We constantly get your calls, and there is no resolution currently.  I asked the gentleman I called to please take us to court or stop calling.  He stated that you could not take us to court.  Are you misrepresenting your collection agency as a "law firm"? This is illegal Mr. Deloney, if I do not get an answer of why you have neither taken us to court or stopped calling (which costs our business money), I will be notifying the attorney general of Utah and Massachusetts (where my company is located).  We are completely prepared to argue in court, and at this point, the continued phone calls will be considered harassment.  I will be sending you written notice via certified mail that you are requested not to call us again, and any further calls will be illegal because of our request.

Yes, you will call several people of the same name, in hopes that you run across the one you're looking for. Been there, done that !! And yes, they probably are a law firm. They have a collection department within who uses the law firm's letterhead. It's actually a legal scare tactic. I would even bet that those types of " law firms " depend on the collectors to keep the business a float. Funny !!

I'm wondering why I keep getting calls, I have no debt that needs to be collected and it's annoying to get these calls and then when you try to call back no one picks up. Ridiculous!!!!!!!

This is a law firm based in Midvale, UT who do a lot of collections. If they do not have the full phone telephone number for a collection target, they have their computer dial up all of the surrounding area codes using the target local number with a message that they have "an important legal matter" to discuss in hopes that the target calls back. Unfortunately, they have been calling my cell phone almost daily for the past month. I was not the target they were seeking and were apologetic. However, I expressed my concern that they had been harassing me with a call that cost me money.

Just received this new number after moving.  Same annoying legal matter garbage.  They call every day at least three times.  I can almost set my watch by it.  I think the previous owner of my phone number owes lots of debts.

I got a call today and found it very interesting that they will not leave me a voicemail message, seems like a telemarketer to me. I guess it could just be because it is a machine calling but I plan on registering a complaint with the FCC about this "law office's" calling practices. I am almost 100% sure they are not calling for me but I also believe it is illegal for them to "phish" for the person they are looking for, it's called harassment!!

Posted on Jun 22nd and they are still calling twice a day but it has become worse.  They now call early on Saturday morning 4 times in a row every 15 minutes.  I stopped answering about a month ago but that doesn't seem to help.  Anyone have any success getting rid of this nuisance?

Jim,

Please call 800 815-1177 and ask for Tony Black, Bruce Crapo or Victoria Bott.  this calling pattern seems incorrect.  We can solve this if it is still happening.

Yours Truly,

Rich DeLoney
