Was asked to return a call to this number,  The caller identified herself as Christina and you could definitely tell it was from a call center.  The premise was for something related to our business.

Caller pitched 750 potential new local customers for my small Maine business. Odd, since he called from NY....  ;-)

Received a call today. They are agents for Perkscard and located in  Islandia, NY. Called from 888-836-7686. Stated they would advertise our company thru the "Perkscard" program to government agencies in our area. Stated there would be 70,000 recipients in our area.We were told we could sign up for a mere 595.00, and 9.95/month for the online dashboard. We politely declined.

Exactly what mmb said in his/her post.
Caller made it sound like we would be "chosen" as preferred provider for local government agency employees, but is really a telemarketing scam.

Lady named Jennifer Hoock called... said she was calling regarding Arkansas state employees and she was talking to my boss yesterday.  She said he told her he had to go because the weather was getting bad (which is not true, although the storm that got Oklahoma was actually heading to our state, it was not that kind of issue for us)   I knew she was not telling the truth anyway because we can tell telemarketers and don't let them get ahold of our bosses!!!

Got a voicemail AND an email! from a very pleasant-sounding lady by name of Caroline, who claimed that she could steer a lot of business my way from one of the local unions. I was to return the call to 888-836-7686, although it looks like the call actually came from 631-870-4339. After reading this string of messages, I'm not calling back; but she sure did sound plausible.

A call to our office was made by "Diana".  She stated she was in the HR department of a local college.  They were looking for a hearing aid center that would be able to offer a discount program to the faculty of the college.   "Diana" said that the faculty (over 3,000 on staff) do not have any insurance benefits for hearing aids.  Caller ID shows the call coming from 631-870-4339 (which is the same number list above).  We were to return the call to 888-836-7686 ext. 298

I received a call from Caroline, claiming to be from the Southern New Hampshire Health system, and that they were looking for a minister to do weddings for clients. That made me a little confused. I don't know why SNHHS wouldn't just call me directly, as I occasionally work with them. I called the number but didn't put in the extension, and got an operator who tried to explain to me that SNHHS requested them to contact me and others for discount services, and that I'd be asked to pay for the privilege of being listed. I told her to take my name off their list. The company name was Perks.

How many stories do these people have?!  Caller ID said the number is 631-870-4339 but the message left was to call 888-836-7686 at a particular extension from an obvious call center to claim my preferred vendor status (and give them money, of course.)  Claiming an affiliation with "Lockheed Martin" supposedly lends credibility, but please...how stupid do these people think we are?

    Weary of deceptive practices
It looks like we are all part of someone's data mining plan!!

The messages left for me were pertaining to home staging, which I no longer do, but I'm sure there are still search engines that would have my name associated with home staging.  Something about the wording of the message alerted me that it was not really what it appeared to be.  The caller said he was working for Flagler County and they are looking for someone to help their employees with home staging and home management.  The phrasing and language used was weird to start, the New York incoming number and the 888 return number sealed the deal of my suspicion.

I did not return the calls, the phone numbers are the same as you guys listed, so I assume it's the same company.  I guess I don't understand the point of the fake-out....if you are selling something legitimate, just give me your sales spiel.  If I had called back and got the pitch I would never considering buying something from someone that tried to hook me using deception to get me to call back.  Ya know what I mean!!

The caller claimed to represent a Union AFSCME 2700, in Contra Costa County. He gave the name John Schneff and was interested in dating and relationship coaching and services for the Union's 1,500+ members. Really? What interest would a legitimate union have in setting up their members on dates? My caller I.d. showed that the call originated from N.Y., phone number 631-870-4339, but the caller gave a different number, which he claimed was local. The number he gave was 1888-836-7686, ext. 168.

Caller ID said 631-870-4339 but the voice mail message said to call 888-836-7686.  "Denis" said he was calling on behalf of the Safeway employees benefit program.  He said he wanted information so he could refer the employees to a recommended dog groomer as well as a pet boarding facility.  Although I am in the pet industry, I am not a groomer or a boarding facility.  If this guy wants to TRY and scam me, he should at least know what kind of services I offer!  Even if "Danis" had known about my business, I wouldn't have been fooled by his attempt to get funds from my advertising budget!

On 7-2-13, received voice mail from John Schneff stating that he is calling on behalf of the AFSCME Union Local w/2700 Contra Costa County, Superior Court and Orinda/Moraga Fire Dept employees in CA.  Stated Union looking for a dance teacher to set up classes.  Schneff left callback # 1 888 836-7686x168.  Where is homeland security on these scammers?

received an email with a notice that the local police would like to take classes at my dojo for a discount.  It said, "You will be featured in newsletters, updates and on the private web page we are designing for them. The employees will also have a new free mobile app to download so they can search your business from their smart phones."  As a business owner, I know when something sounds fishy. There is no point in contacting them as I know the Sheriff department would simply come to my dojo to ask. Thanks to all that have posted for the warning.

Received a message from someone named "Lauren" who said she was with a large company that was looking for a music studio in which to send employee children for lessons. Since we have a program for children's music I thought it was worth a call back. This is CLEARLY a telemarketing call center - looking to sell a service. It seems they get enough info about the company to which they are pitching to make it seem legit. From one biz to another - don't bother!
