Update...a VM was left. The msg says to call 800-404-8721. It's Ameriloan. I had a loan with them over 5 yrs ago, paid loan in full. Called number back, got answering machine.

called me and kept asking for Eric Jones. Whoever he is, changed his number. I just got my number 2 weeks ago. And they keep calling insisting to speak to whoever they were trying to reach. Its getting annoying

First off it doesnt matter what state they are in....they can call and try to collect on a debt. just about anyone can they just cant take you to court if they arent lic in the state, also they have till 8pm sometimes 9pm (your time) to contact you....most collection laws say that they can contact u up to 5 or 6 times a day withour leaving a voice mssge once. When they call pick you and tell them that you are giving them a verbal cease and dease and you want no more contact. other then that if you owe them pay your bills you

MAYBE illegal companies like this SHOULD NOT prey on people.  They are illegal in EVERY state and hide behind native american tribal laws BUT they are NOT a native ameican company.  They charge illegally high amounts of interest,  they continue to take money from people AFTER a debt is fully paid, and they DO NOT follow federal laws. Maybe YOU (who probably works for scameriloan) know what your talking about before you call someone a [removed:lang]- you [removed:lang]...

I work for a firm that take faulty collection companies to court for [removed:lang] like you! lol its a fact these people wouldnt be able to make any money or even be around if stupid people didnt own tons of money and need more.

1st off the law says they may NOT call more then once a day. They MAY NOT call before 8am or after 9pm. They MUST identify themselves and that they are attempting to collect a debt. They are NOT allowed to make robo calls telling you to call them back.

If they leave a voice mail the MUST give the name of the person they are looking for as well as the name of the company.

I know this because I was harassed big time for something I did not owe. Just received a 1000 check, the courts ordered them to pay me for violating the fair credit collection act.

Seriously learn the law before you post untrue and false statements

In response to your message, a debt collector HAS to be licensed in your state in order to collect a debt in your state. Check your state laws. Also, a payday loan lender has to be licensed in your state as well in order to give out a loan. If they are not then legally then cannot give someone a loan.
