I received a call from this number asking for a relative. I asked who they were and they just gave me a name of Shannon from NRI and that they are looking for this relative to give her information that will benefit her. Yeah, right. I asked what type of company NRI is and she said they are a financial services company and they have information to benefit this relative and wanted me to confirm information about her and give them her current address and phone number. I said not without her permission so they asked me to give her their number and were pushy about contacting her today with this information. I didn't say if I could or not, just that I would try. ANY information I gave them could be used against her or to steal her identity. I don't know if they are debt collectors or ID thieves. At least she was polite the entire time. But I don't trust anyone calling me asking for private information about a relative. They only found me because a search for this relative listed me as a possible relative of hers. Amazing how they know that since we have different last names and I have moved twice in the last year, out of state, and have a new phone number. These people searches are getting better all the time.

this number called me and she stated that she was trying to get a hold of my relative also.
I explained that I could not give her infromation because that was part of the family that i
did not stay in touch with.  She explained to me that If i did not give the information to them
that it was my fault that this person would be in jail because i did not give them the information

This number  called me also, real pushy, wanted to know the location of a relative, phone number, or what city and state they lived in, etc.  I ask what this was for and they said that this relative had applied for something and they needed some back ground.  Go figure...I don't anything because we really don't stay in touch.  I wish these people/companies would stop calling.  I thought that there was a program where no one can call your phone number.

They have called several times looking for someone I don't know. I told them the person is not here but they have called back anyway.

I got a call asking about a relative Said they were calling for a reference about a job I need to know what this is all about.

Tip for all.  If you have a Sprint phone, just sign up for Google voice. and link your number.  If you get a call, I just got this one from (888) 853-9066 , you can log into google.con/voice and block the number.

I got a call today, asking to verify a relative's address and the type of work this person did. I told her that she could tell me what address she had before I would give her what she needed. Since she was calling me for a verification of an address, then she needed to tell me what address she had. She then when on to ask what type of work this person did. I responded I did not know and I hung up the phone. It was interesting that the caller call me on my cell phone instead of my home phone.

My Mother got a call from this number she wouldnt give any info..I looked up the number to discover it was a scam!  Go Mom's

Got a call from this number and was asked for information on a relative.  They said my relative was an associate of someone named Carl Moore, and needed to verify some information. I asked them who Carl Moore was and they would not give me any information. I, of course, did not give out any information about my relative. Everyone BEWARE of these scams! These people are thieves and need to be shut down!

we recieved a call after 9 PM on 5/10/12 asking if I was a relative of Michelle B..  I said I was not, however, I wanted to know how they linked me to this information.  They were unable to tell me saying that they work with multiple companies,

We got a call from this number and the man was wanting info about a relative. He would not answer any of my questions and I did not answer any of his. Told him not to call back. Looked up number and found this site where so many others had this same call. Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some from this number is call friends and family members trying to obtain personal information about me. They called me yesterday and would not identify themselves beyond being a Financial Company.  I would hung up on them and would not confirm any information since I was unable to get a clear understanding ot who they were and why they were wanting to confirm my info.

My Mom received a call a few minutes ago from "Sandra" at NRI.  The phone number was (888) 853-9066."  the woman asked for info on a friend of my daughter's.  The girl that she was inquiring about never lived with us and moved to another town a year ago, yet this owman had the girl's new home phone number.  She said she was from a financial institution and that the friend had given my mother's name and number as a referrence.  She wanted to know where the girl worked.  Mom said she didn't know and gave her no information.  Thanks to all of you for posting warnings.  Much appreciated!

Same thing just now, Shannon wanted to confirm working address of a relative...did tell her I know her, but that is all I said.  She said by not giving her information I would be hurting her.
Give them NO information, another SCAM.  Told the person to call her themselves!

My wife just received a call from these people today. They were looking for her ex-husbands step father who she has not seen or spoken to in over 18 years. Not sure how they found my wife at our new address and unpublished phone number. They must have some unusual methods of finding ex and distant relatives.

these people are relentless with calling for info...My best gueuss is that the number I have has been recycled and has had many names linked to it. Its unfortunate, but these people are rude...even if they're nice dont be fooled by them. I asked them who and what nri is and the lady would not specify.SCAM!COLLECTOR!SCUM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Received a call from this number this AM looking for my mom. Woman said she was with NRI and was looking for my Mom to verify information about my daughter. That my daughter had listed my mom on some paperwork??? She wanted to talk to my mom about verifying the information about my daughter such as date of birth, social security number, address and where she worked. I explained my mom has been dead almost 2.5 years and that this number was assigned after her death and was not my daughter's residence. I wanted to know how she got said information.She said they get a database from an outside source. I told her that she could mail her request. She told me they do not do business by mail, only by phone! I asked for a supervisor so she yelled for someone to come to the phone and talk to this lady. I finally got the supervisor to answer the question Are you a company with clients you are trying to collect debts for? with a yes. I also got a mailing address in Rockford, IL and this phone number. I told him to mail paperwork to my daughter care of me and I would find her and get it to her. He closed with... She really needs to call us to find out what business we have with her. It could be to her benefit.

Received two calls from this number, one Lori and one Sharon. Neither would tell me what the intention of the call was and both callers wanted me to release private information about a relative.

Never picked up the call but keep calling me without leaving me messages.
