My story starts with a text message from 812-604-4737 saying that I had a $200 Target voucher and to call 888-889-7491, which as it turns out, is a third-party shipping area of some 'program' they wanted me to trial.  If I didn't want it, I was to call 877-532-2800.  I asked a lot of questions.  They wanted me to pay shipping for the gift voucher and 'program' and said that if I don't call to cancel and a charge comes against my credit card for $44.50 that I could have it reversed by calling that other numbeer.  When I told the guy I was pretty sure that I didn't want to take part in the 'program' he was sending me, he said he is 'just the shipper'. He did not get my credit card #, so I hope I'm safe.  Did any of you give your credit card number out for something like this?

Started receiving unsoclited text messages from these bottom-feeders two days ago. Messages are as follows: "2709573296  June 28, 2010 8;18;19PM Hi, As Thank You, (sic) this Wednesday Call 1-888-889-7491 A A$200 TARGET Voucher is Yours. 36OR Please STOP to optout/DNC" So tired of these scumbags. Get a real *!@#! job!

I got the same issue. I got a text from 19493102648 asking me to call 1-888-889-7491 for a $200 target rebate voucher and to Reply STOP to Optout/DNC

Mine was the same except for the call back number of 1-888-210-9445.

i got a suspicious text from these people too. but i did not answer any calls or texts. i don't trust that since i rarely shop at target nor do i give out my number

i forgot to say my text came from number 317-657-0312

i got a text after i ignored calls from the above number. the text came from 317-657-0312..trying to scam about a $200 target card as a reward. i don't own any credit cards and do not shop at target, so they should not have any info on me

Just got this txt msg... It's obviously some kind of scam. I don't recieve txt msgs from buisnesses as I am on the do not call registry and I just don't think it is standard practice. I do believe my information was some how yanked from Face Book though. Anybody else get this call and not a Face Book account?

Just got a text from this number too with the message that they have two gift cards for me.  I also recently got cell calls from Active Periodicals.  That is also a scam number from Florida "offering" a $1,000 shopping spree and magazines for a "small" fee.  Fortunately I have free texts on my phone otherwise, I'd be really ticked.  No idea what I may have signed up for who sold their mailing list to these idiots that I've started getting the calls and texts. The call came from 440-454-5119, which is in Ohio.

I received the following text message Sept 20, 2010 @ 9:53 a.m. from this Houston based land line.

"As a thank you for visiting the website,
Call 888-889-7492
We have your $200
Walmart Rebate Voucher ready"

"Re: STOP to unsub/DNC"

I was the first to report the Houston # on this website, I'm just cross-referencing the same report on this 888#. The only difference is mine said Walmart & the ones shown here are Target.

Scam...they want you to send the money for a gift that will never arrive.  Reported to FCC and BBB.

I got a text message from 317-652-7686. It says: Please Call: 888-889-7491 We have your $200 Rebate Voucher Thank you for visiting the website

obviously a scam

just got the same text... I think its cool that all i had to do was type in a number on google to find out about this scam. got to say i love and embrace the fact that I AM a google-ologist!
