Called to report that my account was being put on "protective hold" right after I placed an on-line order.  This is at night, after my ban was closed and with no way to verify anything.  Wouldn't give his name, employee number or any other pertinent information.  I will confirm with my bank tomorrow, but it stinks of a scam.

I thought that it was a scam too, since they called me @ my mom's + I haven't lived there in 3 years. I called the 800-number on the back of my card and apparently they were telling the truth. Wierd!

The number is legitimate.  This company is contracted by various financial institutions for security.  I bank with BECU and they just wanted to confirm a transaction because I had tried to place the order with the wrong expiration date (oops).  They ask for the number they called you at (if you missed their call), your name, last 4 of your social, and birth date to confirm your identity.

Completely legitimate. This is PSCU financial services - falcon fraud department. PSCU also does 24 hour customer service for your credit union, call and ask if you are unsure, that is the best way. Yes they are open 24/7/365 even on holidays, that means Sundays too, they will call you up until 9 PM.... your credit union does not have to be open for them to be there!! Anytime you can use your credit or debit card they are there, making sure there is no fraud on your card. In fact, half the time when you call ''your credit union'' you are probably speaking with PSCU. Sometimes the charges they ask you about may seem normal for you, but to their computer there is something flagging it. No need to be concerned. Again, ASK!!! While you're at it on here: www.pscufs.com. I did my research!

I got a call from BECU, and when I called BECU directly they told me that that is NOT the number they use for security verifications, and they even called their security review people and said there was nothing on my account that would have warranted a security check.

I received a message today about a security check. I could not understand a word she said.  I will not give any information over the phone.  I will call my bank on Monday.  Nothing shows on my account when I checked on the internet.  Very suspicious.

Don't trust any one.  Call the number on the back of your credit card to verify.  Just so happens this is a legit company.  My credit card company connected me to them.  Next time I will do it faster.  They suspended, then cancelled my card for me.  Someone was on a shopping spree at Dillard's with my number but not my card.  Credit card company knows I wouldn't spend that kind of money there! Amazing!

Someone had got my number and tried to charge a porn site on it. my bank refused the charge.  new cards issued. call you credit card company first to check.

I got one of these calls and went to Pentagon Federal Credit Union's website to get a telephone number I could call to see if the caller was in fact calling for the credit union.  On the "contact us" page there was a line that read: "Credit Cards- Falcon Verification•Toll-Free U.S.: 1-888-918-7313".  Problem solved.

This is a legitimate service hired by our credit union (Affinity) to monitor card use. They caught several hundred dollars worth of cell phone & computer stuff someone tried to order over internet with our Visa. Call them back!

i didn't get a call from this number but they said in the message to call that number. a person named Glen called from Focus Credit Union and said that it was regarding someone named Wayren Noris (definitely not me) and they were doing a routine security check on his Visa debit card to ensure uninterrupted service on their account. like i said that wasn't the number that called me, it was the number they said to call. the number that called was 4129952894. i still have the message and never answered their calls. they left me another message once before and i think they asked for a different name. i never paid attention to it much before but they call me at least once every other day or every few days. i guess their stupid enough to think that even if they give the wrong name they will still get someone's info... [***]...

I also got a call from this number, but they knew my name. They left a message saying they were doing a routine security check on my Visa card and to call them back. Kinda easy to spot, as the guy barely spoke English, he called after bank hours (at 8 pm), and the phone number wasn't my banks. Watch out for this guy.

    same here
Just got the same phone call.  they asked for me, pronouncing my name wrong, and my dad, whose been dead for over 2 years.  I told the guy that neither was here, and he asked if he could leave a number for me to call back.  Told him okay.  Gave me the number.  I hung up on him.  Will go to my credit union on Monday and let them know what's going on.
