- gregAn internet scam, I own my own business they called and asked if I would continue my subscription (which I did not have) now they are trying to bill be $500+ for the amount owing on the contract which never existed. I seem to be getting more and more calls from scams like these, at least this one they aren't smart enough to call from an unknown number.

- KT"Business Directory" called and said they are updated their listings for the next two years (Ps, they called last year at this time) If it is your first time hearing from them, they will put you on for free. Then they call you back a year later and give you this "update" speech, so then you would probably say yes, then they bill you a ridiculous amount (I know from experience.) They told me by "updating" my information that I agree to pay the bill. Since they couldnt prove that the owner of the company had authorized anything (after a few months of fighting with them) they finally gave up and we dont owe them anything. I also made them send me a revised "invoice" that showed I didnt owe any money to them (incase they tried to come after me at a later date.)
Today when she called I told her that I don't believe I have a listing with them and she said I know, I am calling to see if you would like to pay to use our services. I said no and hung up. Also, they ask for the owner or the manager of the company, they dont even know what company I am or who they are looking for. Total Scam as far as I am concerned.- Caller: Business Directory

- AnnieI got that call last year, followed by an invoice. When I reviewed the invoice, I did a little digging and discovered the scam. I called Canadian Media Pages and spoke with Gloria - very rude! They said they had my voice authorization which they played back. I told her this was a scam and that I wasn't going to pay. They try to put fear in you by siccing the collection agency on you. Today I received a notice from W.C Debt Recovery Services. The business card had Jason Vengroff's name (President) covered over in black ink. The harrassment continues! I will not pay.
- Jon| 1 replyData Click, These guys are brutal, the scam that never lets up!
- Lorie| 1 replyGot involved with them in Feb 2012 and paid $600 for a 2 year service, and then 2 months later got another invoice for $598.89, called Jason back and he said that he didn't know nothing about this and disregard it. After that I informed them by email that to cancel all service after the contract was up, (which they don't send you a legal contract at all, this is illegal) and that any parcels or letters sent to me were returned to them.
Got a call from them today, saying that I still owe them $$ and that I need to pay this. Her name was Wendy, she was getting very aggregated when I told her that I have filed a complaint with the RCMP and BBB and the Credit Bureau, and that I will not be paying anymore $$ not now or ever. She said that she would have to call me back later, and I said that will NOT be possible and we need to resolve this now. After waiting about 2 minutes, she came back and stated that she had a hard time retrieving my information, but she then stated that she will put it on my file and will take care of it. Not sure what that means to her, but me that means my account is "0".
My advise to everyone is to not get involve with them in the first place, but remember if you have a 2 year contract, you don't have to pay twice, and that you have to be given a legal contract outlining the obligations of both parts, and the time frame of the contract. THIS IS THE LAW. They will not give you one, Wendy even stated that they DON'T give them out, wrong thing to say. And if possible record all conversations, but you must inform them that the call will be recorded for legal purposes. Report them to the RCMP, BBB and have a alert put on your credit report, this will cost you $5.00 + tax, but free to file another place. And good luck, we must all stand together to stop them.- Caller: Dataclick

- Lorie replies to LorieJust adding more information for you.
Information of remote agreements or contract.
http://www.justice.gov.sk.ca/CPA-PartIV-5-Remote-Contracts.pdf - Lorie replies to MattDid you receive a written agreement or contracting showing the terms and conditions and time frame, if not, they don't have a leg to stand on. No written agreement sent to you, no $$ for them.
Check this out:
http://www.justice.gov.sk.ca/CPA-PartIV-5-Remote-Contracts.pdf - Lorie replies to JonCheck out Consumer Protection Act. There is alot of information, on getting rid of these guys.
If they say they are providing you with a service, then they must send you a written agreement of this, and a invoice is not it. What this is a remote agreement or contract.

- SeeraBeeraI got a call from CMPages right after we got our new business number. They stated that they are updating our listing. I asked for Yellow Pages? They said yes.
Next thing, I get a bill for $550. and them telling me they have a voice recording agreeing to the services.
Now i'm also getting phone calls from Jason Vengroff from 416 425 8177. He states he is with
East Coast Debt Recovery - this is a private residential number for him when I reverse the number.
East Coast Debt Recovery is a registered business as of April 2013, but is NOT a licensed debt collector.
When I confronted Jason about that- this guy has no conscience, he shrugs it off, and just continues to over talk me.- Caller: East Coast Debt Recovery

- SnuggsBack in 2011 when I first starting working at my new job, I get a call from Data Click stating that they are working in conjunction with Google and would like to update our listings. I told them that at this time I had no record of an account with them so no I will not be updating our records. A few weeks later they called again wanting to confirm our address and such. Which I did but again stated to them that I have no record on file of our company using them in the past for any marketing. She said that they provided us with a free listing and it is time to renew our listing. I told her (Gloria) I will have to confrim this with my boss and call her back. She would not leave me a phone number and insisted that she call me back the following week. Not even a week later I received an invoice in the mail for $627.19. I brought it to my bosses attention right away and explained to him what had happened. He said no we are not paying for this. Monthly went by and they kept sending us faxes and phone call harrassing us for payment threating to take us to collections. So we paid to stupid thing in hopes that it would stop the harrassment and any collections that would be put under our name. Not even a year later we get another phone call to renew again. And I lost it on the lady. We will not be renewing and we will not be paying for any further services. She then said to me that I signed into a 2 year contract with them. I said no i did not. and got very upset with the lady. She threated to go to collections which i stated go right ahead. I called into the BC Marketing Scam and the local authoritizes and explained what was going. We just got another invoice from them today stating that we still owe them money. I don't think so!! I will be reporting them again. This is a huge scam. They never had our authorization. They will harrass you all day everyday. Please if you get a call from DATA CLICK. Hang up!!!

- bchar| 3 repliesGot a letter in the mail from "National Association of Travelers" about a legal claim which would award me two complementary airline tickets. I was required to call this number by Nov 27 or I would be "considered in default and further action will be taken." I Googled and no such organization is listed. Looks like they have branched in a new direction. "Heidi Bell" signed as Vice President
