Dad received 3 phone calls from this number, the first this morning and his pc crashed after first phone call, I called the number back and got a Eric Watson, who would not let me talk and then hung up on me. He could not speak english very well, asked to speak with someone who talked and understood english. That is when he hung up on me. Called back and the next person, more understandable stated after asked he was from Universal PC Solutions, and when I explained what was going on, he transferred me back to tech support who stated they were from WincurePro and his name was Eric Watson, stated they did not call my dad. But said they could fix my dads pc.

This happened to us today April 17, 2014.  "Eric Watson" from India who did not speak english called my mother 3 times.  She woke me up thinking it was important.  I knew Microsoft would have no way of knowing who I was, and the Caller ID says "Caller Unknown", even though he gave her a return number that belonged to WinCure Pro.  He tried to convince my mother that I had to give them access to my computer or I was going to lose all my data.  My conversation with him was short: He told me I needed to be in front of my computer to do this.  I said I'm not doing this because I don't trust this.  He hung up on me without saying a word.

Total scam. Scared my son.

Called me and said to let him know when I was in front of my computer. I said no didn't sound right. He gave me the phone number to call back and ask for Albert.  Never called back.

He paid you to write this, you mean. Was it in rupees or coke?

my mom picked up the call and one of the girl telling her name david called and scared my mom by saying that he from wincurepro and when my mom told that i don't want to continue i am not interested he again scared my mom by saying it is an important call for ur computer.................told to call back he never called me up.......

called up and told to turn on the computer and wen i told i go online he told that i am locking my software maintainence coverage and i refused to give money and called me back for the money......really totally scared my son and when i called up my tech boy he told me that these all are nothing in your computer.they are scammers and work is to scam........totally frod company.........should get a real job david.

My neighbor fell for it, too.  I found out about a month later when she told me how much faster her computer was running.  I told her it was a scam and she and her husband spent the next week changing all of their banking information.

They also took the computer to a local repair place.  The repair place discovered that the scammers had turned-off the anti-malware program, but apparently had not done any other damage.  I suspect the scammers had used her computer for DDoS attacks.  They probably also read her on-line banking transactions.

My neighbor replaced the computer.  Better safe than sorry.  And she is still getting calls from the original scammer and similar scammers trying to run the scam again.

I got this call too but it sounds like this company is well reported.  A friend was hit with the same scam but different 800 number.
My advice to him was simple: NEVER give sensitive information (passwords, credit card #s, etc.) to someone who cold calls you.  Period.  Even if they claim to be your long lost uncle or from Save the Endangered Wildebeest or Feed the Starving Puppies, you can't know that for sure.

Some years ago I got one of these calls, asked for a call-back # and was given an 800# which turned out to be for a brothel in Nevada.  Very funny and probably appropriate.

I received the call from these guys at Wincure Pro (Indian guy with a heavy accent named David!) telling me that he's calling all windows users to warn them they may be infected with some sort of malware and that I should hit my windows + r keys to go into a 'run' program starting with "eventvwr" and hit 'okay'. I was going to entertain him to see where this was going, but I never hit the okay button so hopefully nothing came of it. I asked him for a call back number so I could check on how legit this was and got the 1-888-961-4988 # and then was told to ask for a Tom Cooper. My bullsh*t detector was already in the red zone at this point and after asking several questions as to his motive for being so concerned, he just kept repeating himself that "yes, many people are asking questions like you, but just go ahead and check your computer for me so we can see if this [malware] program is running." Cold calls should always be treated with suspicion anyways and he didn't know my name which is also telling.

I have received so many calls from these Indian accented callers from "technical department."    This time from Chris.  I quizzed him about the phone number and website.  He goes on trying to inform me that they are calling for Windows on my computer to help me with infected files.  I ask how they got my number and he says if I check my email online then they receive warnings about my computer and are calling to help me.  Funny thing:  I am a Mac user and when I inform them of this they hang up on me.

This Tom Cooper just called me. He said he was from WinCure but the number that showed up on the phone was unknown. He told me that he was working for Windows and that there were some glitches in the program but not to worry he would help me get rid of them.  I told him to call me back in an hour.  He never did call back. People like this should be charged with fraud.

These people are cheating the old and innocent American, the only way to block their gateway of money from where they transfer the money to India.

Indian frauds claiming to be from Brooklyn New York. I'd love to get my hands on them

Hello,  Tom Cooper also called me,(From India, or somewhere out there, he wasn't Chinese because I greeted him in Chinese,and he didn't acknowledge, so I think he was Indian) and as I have been scammed once, I just strung him along. He didn't call me from the 888 number, he was calling from a local number, but it wasn't really a local number.
I said my computer wasn't working well and I how can I call him back. He gave me his number 1-888-961-4988.
Maybe you are tom Cooper or someone working with him.
