Keep receiving call from this number. It is automated and it says, "this is an important message for '(my first and last name)' this is not a sales or marketing call, please press '1' to retreive this important message."  I just hang up. Im sure if it is important they would tell who they are and why they are calling. Sometimes I let it leave a message and it says the same thing only leaves a number to call back on. I have not tried calling it back. I looked and I can't find any info on this number. Anyone else receiving a call like this? Or know who it might be from?

Calls everyday for almost two weeks, doesn't leave a message, so i finally called them. The man that answered said they were "Metropolitan", and asked for my "case number" trying to sound important .He wouldn't tell me who they were if I didn't tell him my phone number. I don't think so creep. Blocked !

This number is registered to Metropolitan Credit. They first called my house looking for someone with the same last name using the number 888-797-7727. They say they got my number from their file but I have never heard of the person they are looking for and I've had this number for years. When I told them that I had never heard of the person they got very disturbed and said that if I was lying that I would be facing criminal charges. I told her that they should watch what threats they were making or they would be facing harassment charges. Now they are calling using a recorded message from 888-969-8961. I think that these a******s should verify their information before harassing people just because they have a same last name.

Got called twice and did not answer!

Got a call from this # a few minutes ago - comes up as "unknown name".  Never answer anything that comes up as "unknown".

I agree.whoever this company is should verify the information before haraasing people.

Its a credit collection Company called Metropolitan Credit Adjusters or leeches as I like to call them.

They are so annoying, i called them 20 times a day for 3 days asking them how they like to be harrassed! I will never give them a penny! I send them a letter and an email to tell them not to contact me by phone anymore, they just dont give a crap and keep calling every single day !

Dont know this number-dont know person asked for. Stop harassing me.

keeps leaving automated messages on our machine.  They ask for someone that doesn't live at our address.  I called back to let them know - some idiot picks up and just answers with his name.  I asked what company that was - he said Metropolitan. I told him he should be answering with the company name first and with a snotty attitude said he doesn't have to. They love to be brave behind their phones - stupid and dumb morons.  I told him to remove my number immediately.  I wish I can report them somewhere.

It is criminal organization who is collecting an information for the purpose of the scam and fraud.
Should be under consideratin of the police division.

a message was left  and was very un professional to say the least i did not call back as i could not understand half of what he/she was saying but thanks for the heads up on being a scam

I get calls every day from this number.  I never pick up.  I just googled the number to see if it is a scam, and it sounds like it is.  Thanks for reporting on this one.

Just got a text message from this number didnt even know you could text from a land line

They're not texting from a landline. The text comes in from 647-715-6065 with instructions to call 888-969-8961.

I receive calls from this number everyday and it's so annoying. I usually don't attend calls from unknown numbers, yet I still attended this call and it goes to a recorded message saying that it's about some urgent business and I hear dialing sound for a while so I usually hang up. Then I get this voicemail asking for someone named Gloria. This has been repeating for 3 months now that I finally decided to google it to find that it is a scam.

Beware of this so called avency that texts you and tells you to call the 1-888 9698961 along with a case file.  You calk back and then they have your name on display. Oh yes remember you cant block your number shows up even if you block it. Dors not work on TollFree 1-800 1-888 and so on just ignore. NEVER Call Back!
