Another company called me and told me I was going to be served and I had a formal complaint being filed against me. They gave me a number to a company and when I called the name of the company was Monument Financial. I guess they were suing me for credit card I had in 2003. I didn't think much of it because I have been called by collection agencies before but those past guys were dicks. The guy at this Monument Financial, Cliff, was really cool and just told me it wasn't something I had to pay but it would get filed with the court if I didn't agree to a settlement.  

This isn't my first time around with, what I thought was a collection agency. I took the info Cliff gave me and then looked them up online. I found a company called Monument Recovery Services and from what I could tell, they are a garden variety collection agency.  So, I called my lawyer, who then called them about my account. After all was said and done, my lawyer told me that Monument Financial was a whole different company then Monument Recovery Services and that Monument Financial had everything they needed to file a real case against me. He then told me it would be in my best interest to just deal with Monument Financial now and avoid court all together.

My advise, make sure you are dealing with Monument FINANCIAL and NOT Monument RECOVERY SERVICES.

I just got a call saying that they were looking for my ex husband and he was going to get a warrant out for his arrest and I needed to contact him.

They just called my parents twice about a debt that I don't owe. My parents are in another country. They were rude and didn't leave the name of the company. My parents have an unlisted number.

I received a call asking for my mother who is in her 80's living 2,000 miles away in the mid west that they were serving legal civil court complaint today and to have my mother contact them within 2 hours. Leaving a call back number and case number for reference. It sounded fishy to me so I googled the number finding this web site.
I refuse to upset my 81 year old mother over some old credit card debt probably older than the agent who called. The credit card company made a business decision when approving a charge account to someone with way less than perfect credit and history of late payments and delinquent open accounts from years ago trying to collect now when she is in her 80's on a low fixed income of Social Security. Calling me in California only shows they have to contact information to serve the papers anyway. So they need to directly contact her to serve her. Good luck, after spending hundreds trying to collect on a low income senior citizen for a poor business judgement and as my deceased father once said, can't draw blood from a turnip. And my argument is it's their error in a poor business decision praying on the poor people with no credit worthiness, those calls are made every day in the credit card business so accept your poor decision and move on. .

These guys are straight up con men.  No legit company would use the practices they attempt, and most of the debts they are trying to collect on (if they're even legit in the first place) are so old as to be legally unenforceable.  If you're dealing with this company, you would be well advised to familiarize yourself with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act:  http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/h ... es-act-6000.php

Also, note that there are some number lookup sites that feature reviews of this number that say they are legit - but there are a lot of things that point to these reviews being fake as well.  

Stop with the lies , u probley work there ..... Lol this is a scam , there collecting on old debt and there is no court summons  . Do not give this scam company your money .

Look up the fdcpa u cannot be arrested for a bill , it's a scare tactic    And it's probley an old bill  no process server calls you in advance . This company is a scam

It's a 2 bit collection agency breaking the fdcpa , report them this is illegal and u can sue and win and they will have to pay you . There's real  atty love going after these guys ... Make your self some money tell em your recording the call , wacth how it changes

PAY YOUR BILLS and you wouldn't be getting calls. if you owe the debt pay it, stop being dead beats and trying to use the fdcpa as a way out. Everyone is so worried about debt collections but you're at fault for them calling you. They don't call outstanding people that pay their bills. I'm on ssi I pay the little I can since I owe the money. But not everyone can not be a dead beat and know wrong from right. You want to point fingers, but yet again they wouldn't be calling if you paid your bills. YOU'RE TO BLAIM!!!

Amazing, this company has a web site designed by someone with less intelligence than either one of my cats.  Probably the bath salts they are on.  I notice also that they conveniently neglected to give an address on their web site.  Also they not only claim they have lawyers on their payroll, but they are just so nice that they will help you figure out how to pay all your past due obligations and help rebuild your credit.  My what a wonderful bunch of crooks they are.
