Called asking if we were planning on moving. Given that this is a fake number from an as-yet-unassigned area code, there is no reason to do business with them.

Supposedly from the Washington State Business Development Office.  I'm always suspicious when a cold caller starts off by asking me how I am.  People with legitimate business to conduct never ask how you are.  They say who they are and describe why they're calling.  When someone I don't know starts off by asking me how I am instead of stating their reason for calling, I assume it's a scammer and hang up.

We recieved a call today from this number 889-777-1117.  Claimed to be from the Ontario Goverment.  I am located just outside Toronto.  First question was he asked when we were planning on moving.  I responded saying we are not planning on moving and then they hung up the phone on me.

Same deal! Just random, irritating, interruption in the middle of a workday

We received a call today from this number 889-777-1117.  They claimed to be from the Ontario Business Development Office.  I am located in Toronto.  They said our lease was up and asked if we were planning on moving. Weird.

Called but left no message...Always makes you suspicious!

No message from an invalid number = no balls = lie.

This number calls me just about everyday, say they are from the Alberta Economic office. The phone call goes like this every time. Caller: "Hi this is Jane calling from the Alberta Economic office, we would just like to confirm if your company is still moving or if they have found a new location" Me: "Jane, did you say,  hi Jane my name is Sara. You guys call me everyday, and everyday I ask you to stop calling so can I please speak to your manager?" Caller: "Sure". Then they hang up. No matter how I ask, or what I say to these people they hang up!

the call 3x a week for the last 8 month. Yesturday they told me they had the power to close my business down. I still dont know what they want or what the scam is. Does anybody know???

The have the power to close a business but don't have the balls to call with their real telephone numbers. Show's how powerful they are.

They just called our office saying they were Quebec Development Office.
They are a total scam, as is Quebec Development Office wouldn't speek french !!!

We've been receiving calls from the same number 889-777-1117, also asking if we're planning on moving. The caller claimed to be from the National Statistics Office. We're in MN. The first caller, male, wanted our e-mail address. I sent the caller to voice mail. About a minute later a second caller, female, called back and spoke to another employee asking for our fax #. Does anyone know what this is about?

We're in Vancouver BC, they said they're calling from economic development canada and asked if we're planning to move.

In Vancouver BC, I just got this call.  She said she was calling from Shermack Design and even spelled it out for me when I asked.  As soon as I asked for a phone number she hung up on me.

This group calls about every other week.  Every time they say a different company name like 'BC Economic Development' and ask when we will be moving.  I have asked MANY times for them to remove us from their calling list and every time they hang up.

Received a call today from a strong-accented lady claiming to be with the Missouri State Development Office calling to inquire about when we are planning to relocate. I told here we weren't planning to relocate, she said thank you and hung up.

Received the call and she said they were from The State of Texas Development Office.  Same garbage as everyone else.

I just received a call from this number. I asked where their office was located and he told me an address near my area that is a school. I asked for our name to be removed from the calling list and he pretended not to hear me. He hung up, called again, I said stop calling, and he pretended not to be able to hear me again.

He asked me the same question.... have you moved or are you planning on moving. Ridiculous.

Just received call from this number (I'm in the UK and it was a call from USA) - she was claiming to be from the CIty of London Business Development Bureau.  Asking if we had found somewhere to move to etc and I said "I think you have the wrong number".  She said "are you not moving?" and when I said "no" she put the phone down.  Clearly scammers.
