I manage the telecommunication for our organization. Our AT&T bill was handed to me to investigate $4600 in charges from MCI - all 900 calls made on 2/14/12.  We have a 900 block on our PRI. But the number identified as the caller to the 900 numbers is a direct dial number that shows as the main business line when dialing out. This is all controlled by our Cisco CallManager.  In reviewing the phone logs, these calls did not originate from our company.  

I filed a fraud claim with AT&T who took almost 10 weeks to respond that they are are not responsible and to contact MCI.  MCI took my complaint and stated that they do not own the number but bill on behalf of the owner.  She identified them as "Champion Personals" with a business number of (561) 272-5667. I searched the number and reverse look-up returned the business name "Interactive Communications."

It appears that they are engaged in phone spoofing - a practice where they will change their numbers' caller ID to appear as if it came from a legitimate business.  I am waiting to hear if MCI will reverse the charges.  But in the meantime, I am filing a complaint the the Public Utilities Commission and the State Attorney General.

The number appeared in my caller ID as 900-378,when I answered it a recorded voice simply said "goodbye", then disconnected.

Yes this happened to me too. They called me too twice and then my moms contact called me and did not talk but when I called her back she said she was know where near her phone.

There was a guy with a heavy accent saying that my computer is causing problems to my email server and he wants to help me resolve it. He said that I have to do certai things to my computer based on the instruction that he will give me. I refused to continue the conversation and hanged up. They called me at least five more times but I refused to answer.
