noone ever talks when answered

For those who left comments above regarding the unknown 1-901-213-2895 caller, some questions:

Were the calls received at a time when the person called by the person calling from (901) 213-2895 had recently died?

Was the obituary of the person the unknown caller was calling recently published in a newspaper?

Called through my Privacy Director, chose to display number but left no message

I received two calls from this number it says press 1 to accept charges but my privacy director stopped it, I live in Miami too!

I just got a call from that number, but I do subscribe to privacy director (keeping telemarketers and solicitations away from me).  I did note it was a different number than previously but I think it's because AT&T took over Bellsouth.  I didn't answer the call, in which case you can hit 1, 2, or 3 to either take the call, ignore the call, or send them elsewhere...LOL

Do any of you subscribe to privacy director through your phone company?  What it means is that a telemarketer was trying to reach you and privacy director intercepted that call.

To MIAMI:  I also live in S. Florida; when you call the 901-213-2895 number back, there is a recording explaining all about privacy director and that you/we/I subscribe to it.  It is now just a totally different number than it was for the past 5 years.  Just FYI.

I just received a call from the same number,have been getting call's for months now,everyday.Press 1 to answer to tell them to stop calling but it just disconnect's.I have privacy manager.I am also on the national do not call list.

In south florida, two or three times a week, privacy director reports with man's voice "Omar", no answer or recalls after that.

I'm in South Florida too and these people are calling two of my lines all the time.  Thankfully, privacy director stops them.  I get the same thing, number displayed but no name.  They call about every other day, every day of the week, any time, early morning or late at night.  Both of my numbers are on the do not call list and yet somehow they call me anyway.

Calls from this number stopped for a week or two, but now it picked back up again.  Called me 4 times today alone.

Have received calls from this number, but no one on the line.  This number has called us a number of times, but no one on the line if we press 1 on our privacy director.

On 7-1-08 my privacy director filtered a call and I answered.  The man asked if I knew a Kristen Roth (sp?) from Anchorage AK. I made him confirm that he was calling me by name and number, told him I did not know this individual and even though he wanted to hang up at this point I insisted he tell me who he was. He said he was calling from Nelson, Watson and Associates (a collection agency).  I also asked him what this was about and he replied it was "not my concern".  I argued it was my concern when he called me asking for information; I could tell he REALLY wanted to hang up but I continued  manipulating the conversation to keep him on the line (some of his own medicine). Eventually I became tired of harrasing him and hung up; I would expect it took a few minutes for him to continue his calls.  Note:  When I get an illegal sales solicitation call I tell them "that sounds very interesting" and ask them to hold.  Then I hang up when I hear the phone off the hook alert.  If the sales call is particularly annoying I might periodically pick up the phone and ask if they are still holding.  If they are on hold with me they arn't calling you!

This number belongs to Nelson, Watson and Associates (a collection agency)out of Boston, Mass who among other things does a lot of collections for student loans like sally mae.

This number began calling at 4:00 AM.  I do have have any debt collection owed anywhere.  Am on the "do not call" list...lot of good it's doing.  Who are they and why are they annoying me in the middle of the night?

The name of the company is IC Systems out of St Paul MN.  They have offices all over the country.

ditto as other comments. I've received dozens of calls from this annoying telemarketing company. thank God for privacy director. If you do answer by mistake, there is silence on the line. They're just selling our numbers as live working numbers. Everyone needs to report them to the FCC. I also live in Boca Raton
