Caller stated her name was laura wright working with attorney robert baxter and needed to speak with me.

I called the number back and all they say is litigation.

This is a scam. Ask for written proof of debt.

Same here, spoke with a lady, she said something about my name came in for bank fraud and payday loans...

I recieved a phone call saying it was robert a banks law office and i or my lawyer needed to call back when i did i was told they would issue a feloney warrent for me if i did not send them a large sum of money today. I told the lady i didnt have it she told me i had no choice i had 30 mins to pay it. She was really rude and hateful to me when i asked to speak to mr. Baxter she told me to have a good day and hung up on me.

It's a scam. I called after getting a call from them where they say they are litigation attorneys. Called and told them to remove my number from database and this rude lady told me I could not tell her what she should do then she hung up.
They use another phone number from TN

I  received this number also 901-444-3523 its the same guy  ROBERT, with the other numbers that i received last week
also this numbers come from Tennessee , He always left a machine message said that I must call him back because I own him some moneys
I don't own nothing at all
this must be a SCAM
This guy try to pocket innocent working people I hope the laws have some body looking into this SCAM and put them all to Jail .

I received a call and voice mail from Robert Baxter. I called the number back talked to a very rude female, call was ended. I then called my bankruptcy Attn. and told him about the call and he said call them back and give them his number. I did and as soon as I mentioned attorney they hung up. It is a scam

I had a man call me from this number and told me I owe 769.00 and if I didn't pay I will have a warrant for my arrest and will be picked up and arraigned. I ask to see this paper work by certified mail and they said they can not do that.

I received a call from a Mr.Baxter today saying I had to class c felony and a class e and said I owed him $1800 before 9am or I'd have a warrant for my arrest.. He said it was bank fraud.. We called the local sheriff and they looked it up and also called the attorney general and everyone States its a scam... Tell him to kiss your ass if he calls!! 901-444-3523 was his number..

I got a call from them to saying the same thing so I'm calling the FBI and reporting them. They lady I talked to said the samething to me and way very hateful.

Said they were a litigation service, a 3rd party caller, calling on behave of Advanced American about a pay day loan I took out with that company on March 18, 2013 and the amount I owed was $1,621.00.
I called Advanced American in Missouri & gave them the information they needed and Sabrina ( who I talked to ) informed me I never had a loan with them, I asked her how far back their records went and she said forever!!
I then called litigations back ad told them I talked to my attorney & the FBI and they said it was a scam and all she said Wow, that's what they told you? I told her I was also told I had to notified in writing, I then told her to take my name and number out of their system I was told to have a nice day and she hung up on me.

Just another scam. They try to sound so convincing too. Just to scare the people who don't know better into paying them some of their hard earned money.

As long as we all report them, they'll get caught. You can count on that.

"The law office of Robert Baxter" called and said my bf owed $1600 for an unpaid pay day loan for $700 that was taken out 3 years ago. They said there was a warrant out for his arrest and if he did not pay $1600 within a few hours he would be arrested with $10,000 bond and serve 5 years in prison. My bf never took out this loan and the people who called could not even tell us where the pay day loan was taken from. When he questioned them and asked for proof of this warrant and unpaid loan the person became defensive, rude, and was not able to answer the questions.

We called the police department and sheriff's department 3 times and they confirmed this was a scam. We are going to file a police report on these scumbags.

This company contacted the father of my children asking for me and telling him that I had three judgments against me for bank fraud and payday loans. I called the number back to see what was going on and the woman who answered, her name was Nancy, proceeded to talk over me every time I asked who she was and where she was getting her information from. She got very loud and then called me a "ghetto b*tch" then told me she was going to issue a warrant to my county and I would be arrested. From the start I knew this was strange because she gave me an email address that I created when I was in high school and she mentioned a bank account that I closed out almost 10 years ago. I hope these people are caught soon and arrested and I wont stop until they are!

I got the same call yesterday only for a different matter

I received a phone call twice this week and experienced basically the same thing everyone else is.  It is obviously a scam but they do sound so convincing telling me about my open case and his need to talk to me or my attorney.  If he does not receive a call today, it will be documented that I waived my right to an attorney, etc.  He said his name is Robert Baxter.

How can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:

The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.

The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.

The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.

The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.

Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.

Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.

Stop speaking with the caller.If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.

Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

I received a call yesterday from this number a Nancy from a attorneys office. Said I had commented internet fraud. I had to pay $1601 by 1115am or they would issue a felony warrant for my arrest. For a payday loan that I never had. My daughter called them back and they up on her twice. Notified the local police dept., they said it was a fraud.

I also received a call from this #. The man on the other end would not give me his name of the name of the company.  He would only state that he is a mediator trying to resolve in lieu of court then proceeded to tell me I owed money to a payday loan payday America was the name he gave me would not tell me how much.  When I informed him I needed validation in writing to the address he has on file he said I can tell it to the judge when I am arrested.  Someone has definitely hacked me every 6 months or so I start getting these calls as well as family members stating I am going to be arrested.  I have filed numerous times with the no atty generals office.  Nothing ever happens.  Consequently I have also found out I am a victim of identy fraud and had to file all kinds of forms and police reports in order to file my fed taxes.  Be diligent on these calls file the reports with your state atty general office as well as the federal govt.
