- amrst| 5 repliesSome man called and said that he needed to help me because my ip address was flashing red. I immediately asked what my ip address that was blinking. He said he wasn't selling anything but that his lead generation team produced my number as being at risk. I told him to remove me from his list and let his lead generation team not to call back again.

Hang up. The company is called Login 4 Speed.- Caller: Login 4 Speed
- Anonymous| 2 repliesGot a call from someone claiming to be at "Login(incomprehensible). He said his name was Mike Watson, and he said that they provide technical support, and he received a message that my computer was malfunctioning, and he needed my "computer login security login password". He spoke in a very thick South Asian accent. I doubt very seriously that his name was really Mike Watson.
Long story short, I kept him on the line for a long time, while my friends and I (all of us IT workers at a computer company) listened to him yammer on and pretend to know something about computers. It was incredibly entertaining for us.
At the end he just about fell over backwards asking for my credit card number. I fed him a bogus number, and then told him the expiration was in 2097, and that he had been punked. He said he would kick my ass.
I then reported him to the police and to "Phonebusters", Canada's anti-fraud agency (the call originates from Halifax, Nova Scotia).
Here's the address of the bogus website:

- BC in SFJust got a call. identified themselves as <unintelligible> computer company calling about my "infected computer". Scary thing is I was dealing with a virus infection just when they called. I am hoping it was a coincidence and that they had not gotten my number from the computer. It was a cell # so not easily found by name.
- Caller: <something> computer company
- Call type: Prank

- Concerned CitizenMy wife received a call asking for me mid day today from 902 567 8434 claiming an urgent need to speak with me... since my call log identified the number with a 902 prefix I was suspicious and located this site.
- Anonymous2I got a second call from this same guy, claiming to be from the US government, attempting to deliver a $7000 grant "for good efforts". I had been contacted before and gave a previous report here (I mentioned "Phonebusters" and gave a link to the offender website). I told him he was not fooling anybody, and he started cussing and threatening me. In this case he had my full name, which he didn't before, so he's obviously working at getting more info about me.
Interestingly, although I live in Canada, my phone number is from Oregon (I'm from there, and I have a good roaming plan). So I'd theorize that this guy has somehow breached some organization in Oregon. I'm calling the FBI now, since he's attempting to extract bank information.
Also, on this call his number was blocked. - AnonymousThe number to report these crimes in the US:
Federal Trade Commission Fraud line:
1-877-382-4357 (East Coast)
In Canada:
Phonebusters
1-888-495-8501
These are both East Coast numbers, so according to the FBI agent I spoke with, these guys call the West Coast in the afternoon and over the weekend to keep people from reporting.
I urge you to call the next day: elderly people are being stolen from every day.- Caller: Login 4 Speed
- AnonymousI have lodged complaints with the FBI, FTC, and with the RCMP and Vancouver Police. All of these agencies are aware of these individuals, and are actively seeking leads.

- annalogin4speed just called me and tried to convince me my computer was seriously at risk if I didn't follow their instructions. The man had a strong Asian accent and was difficult to understand. I eventually put the phone down on him when he started asking me for details.
- Caller: www.login4speed
- No MoreI just got a call from them as well. When i answered no one said anything and when i call back i get a message that there phone is out of service. I will keep trying them. I think the best way to handle these @@s holes is to call them 50 times for every one time they call me. And of course buy a phone call recorder.

- Basement Warrior| 1 replyCall from Nova Scotia number 9025678434 saying that my computer might be infected and getting slower and slower. This heavily Indian accented man offers to "fix" it. He suggested that he could do it remotely. I told him I wasn't born yesterday (far from it) and there was no way I would ever let him into my computer and that I was on the no call list and if he ever called again I was calling the police.
- StannGot a call from these folks. Spoke with a thick accent. Asked to speak with my wife because "Your computer had a virus and was giving him a warning". Told him I was her husband, he then called me her Mr. X, but we have different last names, and anyone we deal with know we have different last names so I knew it was a scam and then just hung up.
- Caller: Couldn't make it out
- Call type: Prank
- AVReceived two calls today (and subsequent hangups) when they received the answering machine. Thank all of you for reporting these calls!
- Can you say scam?Got a call from 902-567-8434, man with a thick Indian accent (India) tells me that there is a very bad computer virus going around the Portland, Oregon area. I need to go to their website and press the start button, is my computer on? As I had received TWO calls, one last Friday and one on Saturday from the "US Government Treasury, about my $7000 grant I was a bit leary, so I asked him if 'his' computer was running, he said yes ma'am. I then asked him if his refrigerator was running and for some reason he hung up on me? Huh...weird!
- Caller: Impossible to understand
- he is still tryingI too just recieved this same call. I too responded with a refusal to turn on my computer and he got upset. I made him repeat himself three times and he began yelling at the top of his lungs. heavy asian or indian accent was too hard to uderstand and I suspected he was up to no good so I said thank you very much and hung up.
