A guy called from (904) 268-6197 today asking if I was (girls name) and told him no.  Then he asked that one of his friends lost her cell phone and while she was looking for her phone she noticed that I had a crack on my windshield.  Once he told me this I immediately knew that this was a scam to pick up business for windshield repair and replacement.  Just last week someong left me a postit on my mirror on the drivers side to call Janice concerning my vihicle at (904) 525-2364.  I told him that I already have an appointment with a reputable business and then he asked me which one and what insurance do have I have.  I told him that the establishemnet was located near by and then he said that he works with different companies and he would be the one that they would send out to get it done where I'm located.  Once again I told him no thank you and then he proceeded to say that he also has a $20.00 gas card for me.  I kindly told him no thank you and then he hung up without saying your welcome or anything else.

The nerve of some people, how they need to lie or manipulate to get business.  I have owed several businesses and never have I used such a dispicable and unethical way to attract business.

same thing happened to me.  they left a note from janice on my side mirror saying to call about my vehicle which was parked in my work parking lot.  thought someone had hit my car or something so i called it back and no one answered.  i then took a closer look at the note and realized it was two of exactly the same notes stuck together.  this told me the person puts many of these on peoples cars all day so they are either trying to pull something or they are the worst driver on the planet.  they then called me back a few days later and left a msg when i did not answer. they also knew my name somehow which is not cool.  does this practice honestly work to get business?  who in the right mind would give these fools a dime after that?

I am a victim also. "Janice" left a note on the left side view mirror of my car at the Compass Bank parking lot at Town Center on 3/7. I thought it was an employee in the building and there was a problem with my car. I did see some new scratches. Called back 3/8, no answer; left work phone to call back. A man called Saturday morning 3/9, stating "Janice" lost her phone and found it and to call back at 904-525-2364 or this new number 904-268-6167. He said he was "Allen from discount..(blah...blah)......the last part was muffled. Definitely something going on here. If you find the number on your car, rip it up.

I had a note left on my vehicle as well from the Janice in my work parking lot. Do not call them back I think it's a scam. He said Janice had lost her phone and was returning the call on her behalf he works for a glass repair company and wanted to fix the crack in my windshield, then mentioned a free 20 dollar gas card. This is a scam! Rip up the note if you get one on your vehicle, it's sketchy!

Same thing happened to me. A note left from Janice on the driver side mirror at my job. I called the number back and no answer. A few days later a guy left a message that Janice lost her phone and they found it and I can call her back. They keep calling and I will not answer. These people are dingbats. Janice must misplace the phone every time she runs out of post it notes....Smh!

This is the same thing that happened to me. I found the sticky note on my mirror and they also folded my mirror in. I called and the said person supposedly lost her phone but it was because she saw a crack in my windsheild. well, the crack was fresh like they may have knicked it with a rock or something. When the guy called me back, I told him I was making an appointment elsewhere and that I was going to report them for possibly destroying property to gain business. ... unbelieveable!!!!

received a post-it on my driver side rear view mirror that I needed to call the said number regarding a problem with my car. I called the number and l/m. received a call a few days later saying they noticed my windshield had a crack in it and they replace it free and give me money back. When i went to check, there was a Fresh crack that looked intentional. it was so small i would not have noticed it if it did not have rock or some type of residue around it. I called him back and advised of my findings and told him I will have it repaired but it WILL NOT be by his company....

so i have the caller id service on my cell phone and the name for this number is JAKE PURVIS. just thought you should know! if you search him on the internet, it will provide his address!!!

an orange post it appeared on my driver side mirror, "Please call me regarding your vehicle Janice 525-2364." No answer at the number. They returned the call several days later from 904-268-6197. Caller id. Jake Purvis. Voicemail says they are from Discount Jacksonville and claim to be affiliated with Safelite. Timing of events is interesting, since my windshield was not broken a few days ago and now it is. This is obviously a scam!!!

Same story as the others - I was left a message on my mirror to call Janice. I was worried it was someone who hit my car or something, so I called, no answer. A guy named Alan called back a couple days later, left a message and I realized it was a scam. He called again this morning. I told him I wasn't interested, he tried to sell me on some free window tint thing. I said I had to go, and have blocked the numbers.

I will say that the crack in my windshield was there before, from a rock. But it's so insignificantly small that I'm not worried about it at this time. But after reading other reviews, I'll be doing a more thorough inspection to see if there are new cracks.
