They just called... They are GMC debt collectors. They buy up old debts and they are very aggressive and love to threaten people. Best not to talk to them at all on the phone. There is no reason you have to talk to them at all!!! I keep blocking their numbers so they continue to use new numbers. The good thing is I answer so it registers on my bill, but I do not talk to them.

Received a call from  a rather pleasant lady... at first anyway. She informed me that I was being recorded and asked that I verify my first and last name as well as my address. I asked her why she needed the information and got a demand in response. For about 5 minutes she tried a few different techniques to bait me into giving her my personal information before telling me I'd be getting something in the mail and that I was in "trouble I didn't understand".

The whole conversation was very sketchy in tone and intent. It seems that if you can avoid telling them what they want to hear, they'll give up, though I suspect this will be the first of many calls.

When I called the number back, there was a phone tree message which stated "Thank you for calling Glass Mountain Capital". Upon a Google search, it turns out they are a marginally "legal" debt collection company which buys debts outside of the statute of limitations.
