phone rings..... when answered, someone is leaving a recorded message about a check written for security purposes (?) asking to return a call to "Joseph" ???????  no idea what it is referencing.

I received a call from the same number.  CID said it was from Callahan, FL.  Male left voice message "Hi this is Joseph from FFG and Associates regarding a check that you wrote.  Please call me to verify some information for security purposes."  He then asks that I call him back at 866-443-6985 and ask for Joseph.

I don't know who they are.  I have never done any business with FFG nor any company in Callahan, FL.  I haven't paid anyone by check in MONTHS.

Been getting strange phone calls from this number consistently. They leave a voicemail stating to call some 866 number back to verify security info. Its so weird. I wanna know how these people got my number??

someone sold it to them. I got the call 3 weeks ago. called back but no answer. it's a scam of some kind. they are now using a 904 number. first time I got the 866 on CID. But no answer. too bad we can't stop this sort of crap. even getting up to answer the phone ia PIA.
PS: just got another one. same Joseph. I haven't written a check in a year.

This isn't a scam.  It is from a collection agency based in CA.  They have an office in Duval County FL.  If you received a "cash advance", they are calling for money you didn't pay back.  This one is usally for online only.  I called them back.  Someone gave them my number instead of their real number.

I started receiving calls from this number this week.  I don't owe anyone any money outside of my normal monthly expenditures which are paid in full each month.  I blocked this one as they won't leave a message.  Be smart people and take your name off your message leaving a generic message only.

Boy, you sure do get a lot of calls from different debt collectors.  Makes me wonder if you really do pay your bills.

Considering the duplicitous nature of the poster's namesake, I would not be surprised if they do not.

It also has a reputation for purposely posting the wrong Federal Agencies to report these calls to even though it had been told multiple times that it shouldn't do that.  Then when its posts were reported to the mods it stopped which tells me that it saw those warnings and ignored them on purpose until the posts were removed and then started another path.
