busy on call back

I am very sure this is a fraud line...they ask a lot of personal questions.

called mastercard about a lost debit card, then this number called about 30 minutes later wanting my account number "because it wasn't processing correctly to cancel my card"...didnt give it to them. Tried calling back later to see who answered, busy tone.

Had reported a MC as lost and someone from this 904 number tried to access my account by phone according to MC. This appears to be a scam of some sort, most likely using information leaked from someone within MC. Sad part is, MC couldn't seem to care less.

I also reported a lost mastercard and a had a call from this number really late in the evening. I didn't answer, the number looked strange and then I saw it was from Florida USA . I've just found that is some kind of fraud so it's good I didn't take the call. I wonder who they are, amazing.

Got a call from this number trying to report CC stolen after my bank TOLD ME I would get a call back. Stupidly assumed it was the bank (FIRST NIAGRA), and gave them my info. Now the bank tells me they have no idea who I talked to. Incompetent confusing bank, fraudulent/ identity theft number. Do not give them information.

I also had my M/C debit card cancelled for fraud and I have had 2 phone calls from this number saying the phone number Suntrust has is not correct and they can't send my new card. Asked for my date of birth, was hesitant but gave it to them.  Supposedly they faxed it again and it didn't go through again.  They called, different person, asked for my SS #.  Would not give it to them.  Asked where they were faxing to and they said Suntrust.  I asked where and they said "In the United States".  Ah ha!!  then asked where in US and she says, Nebraska.  Duh - SUNtrust?  In Nebraska?  Suntrust is in the SOUTH!!  Glad I didn't give them any more info.  I have notified my bank.  Beware!!

Same game. Reported my card stolen. Later I recived  a Message to call back mastercard service. The number mentioned in the Message was the same the French Police had given me earlier the same day to cancel my card when I reported the theft.  Seemed very official with the typical navigating tape before being put through to an agent. Then I had to hold the line for a very long time, before they told me to hang up so that they could call me back on their charge, what they actually did just minutes later.
In the end I was connected to a German agent who indeed was working for canceling service, but for the wrong bank. She told me not to answer calls from mastercard service again but to inform my bank about the incident first thing the next morning.
I'm afraid of any extra charge for the calls...
