call from a cell phone asked for owner when asked his name or ourpose, he hung up

Got the same thing as Jack - I asked him to repeat his name and the name of the company he was calling from since he spoke too fast for me to catch it the first time, and he hung up.

Just got a hang from this number, called it back and the message states that it is the State of Florida Police Athletic League.

Telemarketing call, as many callers in the back and wants to speak to owner/office manager. If we had money to give out, it would be going to our employees, not donated to the telemarketers!

Wanted to add my two cents. At least 5-6 calls a day on my cell and office number from strange numbers. This 904-638-4544 has called this morning after taking a few weeks off from calling me. Been adding these numbers to a do not accept list on my cell but that list is filling up!

This number traces to a land line in Jacksonville FL.  I answer and caller hangs up.  First time I have received a call from this number.

Received a call today asking for my Husband, when I said he wasn't available could I take a message - they asked if I could make financial decisions.  I answered yes and they hung up.  When I dialed the number back, it says "Please enter your account number followed by the pound (#) sign."

Received call from 904-638 4544 on June 19, 2008 for the second time in the same day.  As soon as I pick up and say my company name, the hang up without saying anything.

2 calls today from 904.638.5455.  No one answers.

Caller id says only "Florida call"
No message is left, when machine answers, they just hang up.
Was almost 10:00am on a Friday, June 20, 2008 from 904-638-4544.

I get calls from this number all the time.  This time I just saw that I had a missed from this number.  They want various things like making a donation to the Police Athletic League.  This are probably scam artists trying to see who will give them their credit card information.  One of the problems with the DO NOT CALL LIST is there are exceptions; any law enforcement telemarketer can call you to solicit donations as well as political campaigns.  I just tell them NO THANKS and I hang up.

Got a call at work from this number, no one on the line.

Answered and there was a long pause before anyone came on the line.  Asked for my boss.  When I asked who's calling he said he was Jason Hedon and had a business matter that my boss would know about.  I asked who he was with and he said Florida Police Athletic. Put him on hold and he hung up.

Got a call from this number and he said he was with PAL (Police Athletic) looking for donations. I told him I didn't have anything at this time but to call back in a month and he was actually very curtiouse.
I don't know how legit they are, but they were trying to get money.

Got a call again from 904-638-4544. They asked for my husband. I said he was out, and to leave a message. Again, they just hung up. How rude. This number is the Police Association league looking for donations, which they will never get a penny out of me, simply, number one, because of how rude and unprofessional the callers are. They continue to call our call phones, even when we've asked several times in the past to please remove us from the calling list. I'd love to do what my grandmother did years ago before we had caller Id's, and she got a few obscene phone calls. She purchased a whistle and when she got a call from this jerk, she blew into the whistle as hard as she could into the mouth piece of her phone. She never recieved a phone call from this person again. I hope that he had to be fitted for a very expensive hearing aid after that!

Here are the complete details.  Yes, I received calls as well from 904-638-4544.  A male voice asked specifically for my wife, using her first name.  When I replied she was not available, he immediately hung up.  I tried to return the call.  Sometimes I get a automated system asking for an account number, other times I get a message indicating it is the phone number of the "State of Florida Association of Police Athletic Leagues".  I called the association, they claimed their callers are not rude nor behave as I described, and hung up on me.  I called the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (community affairs, Mark S. Richardson, Chief).  His office confirmed that they are "affiliated" with the group (i.e., it is a third-party fundraiser, the kind that probably returns about 30 cents on the dollar to the charity).  I let them know my feelings on it, and asked if they could go arrest their fundraiser (they didn't see the humor).  I shared with them my decision not to support PAL any longer due to their vendor selection.  Evidently most PAL's in the state of Florida use this association to contract with an independent for-profit company to raise money for their groups.  Address P.O. Hey there! How do I put a "do not call" on rmy cell phone I get marketing calls all the time from the same three numbers! They call at all hours and disturb my husband who is quite ill.
