See i log all calls like this one as BLOCK so when they call back before i can block it I let them have it all..... he says i am calling because your computer has been sending me virus alerts so i am here to help you run a program to see all viruses that are on your computer. I said put me on no call list because your bogus. and he hung up on me. so i blocked the number via my sprint account for ever
- Trice. he says i am calling because your computer has been sending me virus alerts so i am here to help you run a program to see all viruses that are on your computer. His name is David and he says he is from Lapsupport technical support. I told him I did not need his technical support I had my own!

- Marie| 1 replyReceived several calls says I am sending out virus alerts from my computer how would he know which computer as I have several that I use has to be a scam
- ShawnI received a call this evening from some guy I could barely understand (thick middle east accent) saying he had received a warning from my windows computer about a WIFI issue. I have three computers with windows programs. One is hooked to a land line, one hasn't been used in 2 mos, and the last is my work computer. The work computer is the only one with WIFI. I work for Verizon, and my WIFI and computer is issued through them, and we have our own monitoring people and tech support people who notify us of any issues. All I can say is SCAM! I was not at home with the computer so I said I could call him back. He said to call Steven Rosario at 909-713-7131 (which I googled and the number came up as a education marketing co.)
- JAKE| 1 replyI got a call from some guy (caller id says Raymond Poinsette) claiming to be a tech for LAP SET and was working on behalf of Microsoft. Something about a WIFI issue. I hung up on him and then blocked his number.

- RRT replies to MarieA guy with a thick Middle-eastern accent called and aggressively moved in for the kill. He identified himself as lab support from Microsoft and said my computer was downloading viruses to the "main computer," and he rattled off my email address. He said he already had my license number and instructed me to boot up my computer and that he would "give me a moment" to do that. I told him I had no clue who he was and that I wasn't anywhere near my computer, whereupon he hung up.
- Heather Hernandezcould not understand anything that I was saying so he hung up. I tried to call number back because I thought it was my ex-husband who lives in Jacksonville, but, got a message error. I am blocking number from log.
- TheresaI get the same call several times a week. When I bothered to answer the first time, I asked questions of my own. Which computer? The response - "the newest one."
What OS? Microsoft
What IP Address? Hang up.
It's completely a scam. - kimberlygot a call from this number today.. picked it up. the line was very staticy and he had an indian accent. He told me he was a lad tech from Microsoft and my computer has sent them virus information. I said the following " Really - that is funny because I am hacker with the Department of Defense. I have 3 firewalls and 4 virus protection programs on my system. How can i be sending microsoft a virus. call me again and you'll have the FBI at your door in less than 60 seconds." ( I used to work for the gov't and know alot of contacts but I'm in the banking industry now).. The line got really quiet. and He said " oh my goodness are you serious". I told him " you are trying to scam the wrong person, try me again pal I'm not kidding". after another 15 second silent period he said " well i'm from the FBI and you are sending me a virus". I said " huh, thought you were a lead analyst with microsoft". and he said well uh... and I hung up the phone.
DO NOT attempt to do anything this guy tells you. once they can get into your system, they can use your IP Address to get personal information and steal your identity from identifiers located on your computer.
block this number or report it to the fed's. they can trace phone numbers, even wireless, and charge the guy with a felony for impersonating a Federal Officer and a misdemeanor for scamming. - Kelly SmithCalled my home. Told me he was a microsoft technician and viruses were coming from my computer. I knew this was a scam. Same call, different area code. (503) area code, about a month ago. This time I told him I had no computer of any type. He asked if a had a tablet instead, I told him no. PLEASE get these low life, scum sucking [***] !

This is a scam do not give them any info, Microsoft would never call your personal cell phone for something like that. I have already reported them to the FTC

- RobinThis guy has been calling for weeks and after reading these messages decided to answer. Sure enough said his name was Ray from Microsoft and my computer was sending them virus messages. Was great to be able to call him out telling him I don't have a computer just a tablet also warned him I was reporting him to FTC since I'm on the do not call list. Doesn't do much good though he called again 2 hours later. The list does no good.

- Annoyed as AlwaysReceived the same basic phone call from a Roy Andersen (with a very hard to understand east indian accent) that he was a certified Microsoft engineer working for Instant Tech Support. He stated my computer is sending out viruses. I had to ask him repeatedly for his name and company name. This is exactly why family planning and abortion services are necessary, anybody that has to bother people for a living doesn't need to be here! Our school systems need to be changed immediately, starting at the K level. That everyone needs to be held accountable for their actions. DON'T BREED WHAT YOU CAN'T FEED!

- someone get emReceived call from 904-699-9831 two days in a row. Hubby answered, lady started talking about computer and he didn't give her a chance. Told her she reached Chicago computer crime lab. She asked for his name and badge number. He rattled off fake name and badge number. She responded good luck catching me and hung up. Mid-eastern accent.

- strange callerReceived a call from 904-699-9831 around 6:45 pm from my work number from a guy with an indian accent asking for an individual with the last name that happened to be mine. He did not introduce himself to inform me that he was calling about anything or what company etc. I just played dumb repeating our business name a few times along with who he was. He finally asked if we were a business I replied yes and asked for mrs. ______ and I replied no one by that name. He then hung up. Odd that if what everyone is claiming it has to do with virus alerts from personal computers I didn't even have mine or was on one.
