Automated message that starts "this is Bishop..."  I hang up.  Keep getting repeat unwanted calls from this number.

No, it's not a Catholic bishop. I'm Catholic, and they don't make these kinds of random calls. It's probably not a bishop at all, just a scammer.

I can ensure you that you most definitely are not getting a phone call from any Bishop from the Catholic Church. It simply does not work that way. The Arch Diocies go about donation money in a very organized way and it is never over the phone.

Recorded call asking for a donation in return for a prayer - very upbeat telemarketer referring to himself as a religious bishop. Just hang up

Received call today (5/6/2014) with same dealio as mentioned in previous posts.
Unlikely this came from a telemarketing center as I'm registered on Do Not Call Registry.
Rather than press 1 (for prayer) or 2 (for whatever the other option was) I did nothing for 8 seconds.
Robo dialing system disconnected.

What provoked the call / how did they get my number:
Only thing I can think of is that I do post on Craigslist (without my phone number) and call back any inquiries that give me their name and number.   Other than that .... no clue.
