Said they were from my CC company and wanted to lower my rate.  They asked for the security code on my credit card

they wanted to give me zero interest for life on my visa card. they asked for my expiration date. i lied and told them that i didnt have a visa card and then he asked me for the expiration date on my master card. i said i would give it to him if he verified my card number but he said due to security purposes he could not tell me and he would lose his job if he did. i told him i thought this was a scam and he said as you wish and have a jod day and hung up. when i tried to call the number back the call could not be completed

Basically the same thing...first was a Visa, said I didn't have one then he said no I said MasterCard..said I didn't have that either...then he hung up !

Just has the same thing. I work for a bank so I told them I knew this was fraud and to never call me again. I called non emergency police, they told me to dial *57 to start a trace and go to the police after 10 calls so the fraud department can start a report.

I've been receiving calls from Unknown Caller and Private Number, it has always been the same guy. The last time he called, 905-222-2123 showed up. First he said he was calling from "the bank that provides me with my Visa/Mastercard" and wanted to know my cc # (obviously bells went off). Second call he wanted to know my expiry date. He said I had won a trip. The last few times he called he has called me a name that I don't have on a cc. I told him he doesn't have my name right and to stop calling my number. I received 2 more calls today - not from THE phone number but from 101739 (?) and Unknown Caller, I didn't answer but he didn't hang up in time so my voicemail caught him talking in the first message briefly (not English, unfortunately I deleted it), the second voicemail was a lot longer but didn't give any good information on who they are. I can always tell when it's them/him calling because it always sounds like he is driving in a car or in a food court - there's always alot of background noise. I'm going to give this phone number to my cop friend and see what he says as this has been going on for a few months and well over 10 times. I don't answer my phone now when I see "Unknown", "Private", or the ph#.  And..he usually calls twice in a row one after the other if I don't pick up - from different phones.

He called asking if i was married, and i say yes, which im not, and he asked if i had kids, which i dont but i said i did, and he told me my adress and i don't even know this guy?! he said he was going to come to my house on sunday!? Who the [***] is this guy??? and why is he calling me? he wants to marry me, he also asked me about my visa.... i don't have one.... :S the number is always 905 222 2123 ......... OMFG! how would he know my adress?

Unless you request the info not be shared the phone company ties your address to your phone number publicly. Accessible online.

The same as Cathy (above).  First Visa, then Mastercard, then a hang-up.  Are these people using burner phones or what, that they can get away with this?

I just got a call from 905.222.2123.  They guy on the phone said he was calling about a mastercard and a trip to Orlando.  I asked him to remove my number from his companies calling list and replied "you should give me a [***]"  I said Excuse me, not believing my ears.  Then he said "why don't you give me a BJ and F me while your at it"  I hung up
Bell can't do anything about the number, IE track it, block it and the police theres nothing they can do unless it happens again and again.

I had a call looking for my aredit card# and security code.....he wanted to offer me abetter interest rate...i tild him to call back i 10 mins. he called twice yesterday and once so far today.....imagine that..nobody home...LOL........................scam

Same thing.  Got a call from this number today.  Guy said he was from Visa verification center and said because of my good payment record I could get a lower interest rate.  I told him it sounded like a scam and I didn't believe him.  He kept saying it was for real.  I did not give him any information regarding my card.  He said something was going to be mailed to me -  like I really believe that.

905-222-2123 (November 22, 2012)  Called today.  Said he was from my Credit Card Company.  He asked if he was speaking to (called me by name).  I told him no - that was my mother.  I told him she was outside working.  Asked him to give me his number and I would get my mother to call him back.  He declined and said he would call back at another time.  When I tried to call the number I got a "number disconnected" message.

I had a call from this # today..so I googled it to see who it might have been and then I see this..I'm glad I never got to talk because he would be drove right off his head! I loves to torment these people :) right back at 'em!

Said he was calling from VISA/MasterCard and that I was making my payments on time so I'm a good customer and he wanted to lower my interest rates.  I asked him to tell me the credit card number he was calling about and he said "how should I know, that's your property".  Told him he should probably know my VISA number if he's calling me from VISA.  He told me to F-off and hung up.

Received a phone call from this number about half hour ago. It seemed strange right from the start. I asked for a number to call back. I wanted to verify with my bank if they had a company calling to offer lower interest rates. He gave me a different number then what showed on my phone. I also googled that number and it shows that it is a scam that has been going on for approx 4 years according to the Canadian Credit Fraud Bureau.

I knew it was a scam so I wouldn't give him any information he was asking for, and by the end of the call he told me where to put my card...
