Air Duct cleaners my ass.  They terrorize you.  They have used my home phone # on their VOIP and spoofed it so when people get they call, they see my home phone #s.  Beware.  Truly criminals and they admit to it.  They know they "can't" get caught.

This guy is REAL bright - he was talking to my answering machine and expecting it to respond!  Idiot.  His name is Alex and he's calling from some duct cleaning service.  The actual name of the company was inaudible because it sounded like he took a big mouthful of marbles before dialing my number.  Well, Alex, I have a Panasonic telephone with a Call Block feature  so guess what Buddy - that is the last time I have to hear your annoying voice invading my home!

They call here about twice a week, regardless of what we say or don't say to them. I'm ready to take some action if anyone knows where they work out of.

Answered as I thought it might be a robo call regarding our municipal election.  However, I think it may have been the air duct cleaning guys, but can't be sure because there was so much static on the line I couldn't understand a word the guy was saying.

Same deal. Air duct cleaning. I would appeal to anyone and everyone to not under any circumstances buy anything from these people ever. The only way to hurt them is in the pocketbook. They are flagrantly ignoring the laws of this country.  They need to be put back in the stone age where they belong...

They kept calling me for duct cleaning and wouldn't stop so I decided to have some fun with them. They called last week and I said sure and set up an appointment for a few days later. I gave them the address of a strip mall in my town and waited for them to call me on the day of my appointment. Sure enough they called that day and said they would be there in an hour. They called back an hour or so later saying they could not find my house LOL!!!!  I gave them directions to another strip mall on the other side of my town and they called back again saying they still couldn't find my house. Hilarious!!!! I gave them more fake directions and this time they didn't call back. So funny!!!!

call came in while I was out and it showed on my list of incoming calls. I tried calling it and got a recorded message "number not in service".  Service provider (rogers) said its a fake number , non-tracable, likely a a hacker who has reverse engineered a way to acquire workable numbers.  Most reports here believe its a duct cleaner,  I suspect something more devious -- why would a legitimate (but annoying) duct cleaner employ a hacker to mask or hide his identity.  If its legitimate,  one would think the company would welcome a return call.

They called 2x today. Got Sam. Told him I could not hear him on the phone. I would call him back if he gave me the number. And asked his location. Scarborough. I said I only dealt locally in the 905 area code and Scarborough was not. He hung up and called back about 2 hours later. I said the same. So he put his "boss" on the phone Alex DeSousa. Alex explained that he has another office in Bowmanville. I said I would love to have my duct work cleaned so if he would give me the address I would pop over to see the office. Click.

Believe it or not, I actually got some honest answers from the air duct cleaning guy calling from 905-237-9210.
As soon as the number came up on my call display, (naturally ringing long distance even though there was no prefix in front of the number) I googled it and got to this forum.

So when "Sam" said he was calling from "...Air Duct Cleaning services. How are you today, sir?" I responded with "Are you calling from India?".

    "No Sri Lanka".

Shocker! In the past they have lied, pretending to be from Mississauga. Then I asked, "Is Sam your real name?".

    "No, it's actually Samir".

Holy crap! Dare I press my luck? "Are you using and autodialer with Skype?" (Ergo the long distance ring with no prefix).

    "Yes sir".

Holy crap again. One more probing question; "Is your phone call really an attempt to steal my identity and credit card information?"

Alas. I pushed too far. "No sir. I'm only trying to do my job. I will have your number removed from our calling list."

Fat chance. Only in Disneyland, buddy. I breathlessly await the next call from Sri Lanka. Maybe I can convince the next caller to give me his credit card info.
