Globe and Mail telemarketer ... trying to sell me their paper for a year at a price that is almost ten times higher than my Toronto Sun subscription.  
Although I don't support crackheads, I am not paying ten times as much money to avoid Mr. Ford, Mr. Hudak and Mr. Harper's number one supporter in the newsprint industry within Ontario.  
I am a pensioner and, simply stated, cannot afford this offering although their views would no doubt be most refreshing!

it is globe and mail , first thing this girl said was " mr. xxxx, just to let you know starting from tomorrow you are getting a week of free newspaper from globe and mail , OK ? "  ...I replied, NOT OK !! , then started selling me just the weekend subscription then I asked her to take my number off their list and she gave me confirmation number.... yah right

I wonder what would happy if I wasnt that awake and said ok to the first statement, I may just get shxt delivered to me and get charged for them...!

Yup got that call as well :(
They asked for Mr. XXX (me basically) and I said I was not home but wanted to take a message.
They said no, there is no message and hung up.

Called me at 4:02 PM, June 16. No message on my machine. I wish the CRTC would do something,
but that is expecting TOO much from a bunch of Ottawa bureaucrats.
If the PMO's office was getting or even his home, something would be done about it.........

Called at 3:25 PM, Friday June 20,2014. I answered and there was no answer, Maybe because it was
a male voice they / IT chickened out, Now they is BLOCKED like their feeble minded brains, if they have
any.

I could not find the number in the Yellow Pages!
They did not leave a Voice Mail.

isn't it illegal for canadian companies to ignore the do not call list?

i wanted to ask, but my arnold schwarzenegger soundboard does not have that specific question available, so the caller ended up trying to sell arnold a subscription for a few minutes before giving up.   ^__^

I guess it must be the Globe & Mail calling me too, just checking to see who it was. You know, they train these newspaper telemarketers better in this business than any other business. Newspaper circulation, they still circulate paper better than web based news. Funny! Must be the pictures. Can you imagine if we got a picture of who was calling us, instead of just a phone number. Make it easier to look the number up, guess not.
