- MargaretSame thing here. Got a call from them re lowering my interenst rate on a credit card. Tried to verify their company by giving me a 1-800 number to Royal bank (anyone can get that). Told them I would like to "verify" them with my bank. They gave me a number I passed to the banks Security Department.
My gut was right - nobody is calling me in cooperation with the bank and NEVER give your CC number over the phone!- Caller: MCS?

- mkmCalled me yesterday and mispronounced my last name, but had the right first name. Said they were calling on behalf of my financial instutuion about my visa. When I asked who they were he gave me some name and started to ask about my visa. I then asked him how he got my name and number? He said from my financial instution and attempted to ask about my visa again. When I informed him that I didn't have one he said then your mastercard. I informed him that I had neither and that they were attempting to scam me and that I was reporting them immediately for fraud and hung up.

- Warren from TorontoAlpha Dog of the Week!
for using the trade name "Credit Card Consumer Advocate" to run a credit card interest rate scam.
As is our duty, I kept them on the line for over ten minutes. They repeating that their charge doesn't come "our of your pocket". My guess is they figure a charge to your credit card is different they paying "our of your pocket". That didn't surprise me much.
But for using the name "Credit Card Consumer Advocate" I have to say:
Congratulations Andy Hoffa you are the Alpha Dog of the Week !!!- Call type: Telemarketer
