You block one number, these scammers come right back with another one.  Here is their latest attempt.  I am so sick of them.

Mind explaining why you think the caller is a "scammer" and what's made you sick?

They just called with Caller ID of "Unknown Name". I didn't answer and they left no message. When I called that number back about a minute later there was no ring sound, just a recorded voice that softly said "good-bye". These are the calling cards of the telemarketer scum. I don't care if it's for a legitimate business. If they use these tactics to interrupt your day they are as bad as scammers and should be locked up or bankrupted with fines. If the FTC rewarded those who take the time to report these SOBs who eventually get fined $500 a call with a cut of the proceeds like the IRS, then I might bother. But it takes quite a while and I have no idea if my previous efforts did any good. So my Panasonic call blocking phone is my only weapon at this time. 93 of 250 used.

I've been getting such calls, on my unlisted number which was long ago added to the FTC Do Not Call list, for a couple of years - about 3\day, from spoofed ID and numbers, most wanting "to vork your house (and steal from you)," but also "I can lower your monthly credit card interest, if you'll only give me its number...

The nature of the scams and the accents of some of the callers puts the blame on that group.

Every such call violates numerous (unenforced) laws, including California Penal Code 653m, which prohibits threatening or annoying calls...

Didn't pick up. No message. Have received several such calls lately from the 909 area code.

this number keeps calling me. they dont answer. and when tried calling back a machine just says good bye. so annoying

this is the 3rd day that I've received a call from this number.  I didn't answer the call and he/she did not leave a message

some Mexican dude called freddy calls asking if I  need help finding an apartment but I need to give him 2k in advance

RECEIVED SEVERAL CALLS FROM THIS NIMBER 909-254-6842. It's an air conditioning company offering their service. Their real call back number is 1(818)-268-4524  the business name is Air Care HVAC.  THEY NEED TO PAY A PORTION OF MY CELL PHONE BILL SINCE THEY ARE CALLING ME ON IT RIGHT?

Sounds like a scam. Next time he calls tell him ok where shall you send the money to.

This same 909 has called me with different numbers every two hours for three days. I have Panasonic 250 number block so they can all F©©k off

You want to know why people think these callers are scammers.
Brother, you are not the most intelligent nut in the room and that is what makes people sick.

Perhaps if the OP had typed *why* these callers are scammers instead of just complaining the callers are scammers. It's not very "intelligent' to assume a caller is a scammer unless you have some information as to why.  You nut.

Been getting a lot of calls from 909-254-xxxx and 909-245-xxxx lately, I suspect all from the same call center, and they never leave a message.  As of today, I have changed my outgoing voicemail to a dis-connected recording, hoping that either the auto-dialer will detect the tone and remove me from their list, or that someone will actually pick-up, hear the recording and flag my number as inactive.

Knowing that most of these are likely spoofed numbers, I'm not sure about the usefulness of reporting them, although I may continue to anyway.

Well "me".. Resident and Anon are highly respected members here on 800 notes. Looks like you and a few missed his point and "ass"umed.  We are all sick of scammers here BTW.  All of us, and that includes Resident and Anon.

Two days shy of 8 months to think of an asinine retort to someone who has given this web site so much valuable information it is priceless.  Or were you looking in the mirror when you said "Looks like you are also a scammer. SICK of YOU."?  in which case you will end up with no esteem instead of low esteem.

Received a call today from this number with no answer to my voice and then a hang up.

Thank God it's just a telemarketer.  I've been getting cslls/vm messages from a stalker whose number registers as "private."  Anybody knows how i can find out who that horrible man is?
