- Sally| 3 repliesThis guy, Matt Greason, calls and says that, "Law enforcement proceedings will be instigated against you should this phone call not be returned". "It would be best that you have your Regent attorney call me back RIGHT NOW"
- Caller: ???
- ronnib| 1 replyCalled twice. I hung up on him the first time. He called right back and said that cops were going to be serving papers on me.
- Caller: Department of Legal Affairs US Government
- CWG40 replies to ronnibIgnore and block. Most likely garden variety Indian or Pakistani debt scammers. Police normally do not serve papers. Civil papers are sometimes served by county Sheriff's deputies. No legitimate process server cold calls you and tells you in advance you are going to be served.
- swon| 3 repliesJust received a message on my machine from "Steven Gellar" from 909-366-5733 (a think Indian accent, by the way) which stated he worked for the "Department of Legal Affairs of the US Treasury" and there is "an action against you." He also stated we should have our "legal attorney" call him back.

- J replies to swon| 2 repliesI just received the same message (from 909-366-5733)--that Matt Peterson (with an Indian accent) with the dept of legal affairs from the US Treasury was trying to get a hold of me with regards to enforcement actions started on my name. He suggests that I have my attorney give him a call, as delaying in calling could end up in a legal mess for me.
- KJOI just received the same message (from 909-366-5733)--that Andy Parker (with an Indian accent) with the dept of legal affairs from the US Treasury was trying to get a hold of me with regards to enforcement actions started on my name. He suggests that I have my attorney give him a call, as delaying in calling could end up in a legal mess for me.
I can add that my phone number was recently leaked to multiple loan companies because I filled out an online survey... I get calls all day from Quicken Loans and a bunch of other ones. Would not be surprised if they sold my number too. The reason I think so is "Andy Parker" is using the name on my current mortgage, not my new married name of 2 years. - MJG replies to JYour attorney will tell you this is a scam.
- Teresa Crabb| 1 replyHad a message on my answering machine from a Andy Parker (accent) with the Department of Legal Affairs from Black Bear Lake, CA - phone number 909-366-5733. He said I needed to call right back as enforcement action was being taken against my name. I could have my regent attorney call and try to resolve but I should call back right away. I have contacted our local law enforcement as to this message and they say it is a scam and do not call back. They also gave me a number to contact the IRS (877-382-4357) and report it.

- JerryCall from 909-366-5733 - Gentleman with Indian Accent identified himself as with the Dept of Treasury and stated that they were starting legal action against me. The person wanted me to give him personal info. He said they had sent me a letter that I did not respond to. He went on to give me my home address and asked that I confirm it for him. I told him that I would not. I let him know that I was aware this was a scam and would do everything I could to ensure he was caught and placed in jail. He hung up on me. Any ideas on how to report this individual?

- trinka replies to Sally| 2 repliesSame message here from Shawn White. He even ended with "do the right thing. Have a blessed day."
- Alfalfa replies to trinkaThis is (one of many) criminal extortion scams that have been going on for years. They are using VOIP and/or disposable cell phones to disguise their identities and locations, making them next to impossible to trace and prosecute. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting victims' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
- Sonny LioeI just got similar threatening call from Shawn White claiming he is from the Dept of Treasury Legal Affairs. He has a very distinct Indian accent. He threatened me saying that he will be arresting my daughter, Patricia, in the coming months. I questioned the reason, and he said he would like to speak directly with my attorney. Apparently this is the same scam and fraud calls. Can we do anyti g about this.
- Caller: Dept. of Treasury

- NMB| 1 replyI got a call from Andy Parker with a strong accent. Stated he was from the department of legal affairs. Saying there was a legal action against me. He said to have my lawyer call him back, and he also said to have me call him back. He repeated his name and number several times. And at the end, he said to have a blessed day.

- amn| 1 replycalled about 11:30 same number different name. this time it was Jason Dean. also from the department of Legal affairs of the U.S. treasury. told me there was a warrant and legal action against my name. asked about my name ,address and lawyer info.Due to sooo many credit card debt calls ( we have not one ) I was suspicious. Not to mention the same accent from callers reportedly from windows calling with something wrong with my computer. any who.... I asked what it was concerning he had to transfer me to Jason Dean....after a very long brief pause. A man answered ,,,,same accent , who knows, probably the same guy. said an agent had tried to deliver notification personally ( because they didn't use mail or ups) and that he couldn't get a signature so it was returned. Since I was obviously trying to avoid payment, the treasury had turned it over to someone or other for criminal action. told him I was usually always home and asked wouldn't they have called first. And then he suggested if they had I would have ran to avoid them. this was my verbal notification that I would be arrested. asked me if I remembered who filed my taxes in 2011 . yes, Me was my response. more was exchanged I told him I would be calling the revenue office when I hung up. I got his fake name and phone# ( which I *69 to see if it was real) so Hung up called the revenue office they gave the irs fraud reporting line which is 1(800)366-4484 than called the irs ... recording saying they were aware of this scam and that the voice mail was probably full so hung up called the sheriff asked to check if I had a warrant said NO (HAHAHA I'm loving this ) then told them what just happened ... She said Yes that it is a scam. Long but not the end. ........ My husband came home for lunch. He is a Dave Ramsey fan and listens to the radio he knew what was up . and he wanted to tell him to go eat from the bottom of the pond where the scum is . He smiled and called him back. Asked for Jason Dean , and then repeated it ... apparently the man doesn't know who he was by now seeing the list of names on this site.. Now we file joint under his name so he told him he is the man of the house and makes the money so it was his business and it concerned him.so then they added he had a warrant for his arrest and I guess that he would have a six month sentence. and this was my favorite part of the whole thing. My husband being the patriotic lover of this county and its laws ... said 6 mths and I didn't even have my day in court. Now we all know its supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. (Bad representative of what is supposed to happen in this country.) so on so forth my husband asked (playing along ) if he could settle this over the phone . of course they asked for his bank account # .. that's when my husband told him what he called to tell him......then told him this is a scam.the man then a little shaken assured him that it was not and that they would be proceeding with the next course of action. Bring it on . we will be here when the police come. so there you have it... stay honest , have no fear and just play along when the irs fraud guy is here.

- MMB replies to amnRec'd the same msg on my answering mach from Matt Peterson, stating I should have my attorney call him back, then said in the next breath, I needed to call him back asap to avoid a huge legal mess. I am very cautious of these calls and know to look up #'s on google so was pretty sure this was a scam. Also, I know everything is mailed, before anything else happens, and they attempt delivery more than once if you aren't home the first time, so was glad to see these replies when I looked this up. I will be honest, it is very disturbing, and they are good at this. I feel for the people that believe them and give them their info. A lot of people never think to look #'s up on google. Thank you all for your replies and posts!!
